Baltimore at New England (10/04/2009)

rekamyenom the big factor here is REVENGE for that game two years ago the RAVENS should have won and sent the Pats to 15-1 is still well remembered and you know who ( i think his last name is Lewis)  will have that D so fired up that i just can't see the Pats winning and they have been having trouble in the red zone this year and will be even tougher in this game. I just remember how pissed off Baltimore  were at the end of that game.  If you have the game locked in then good luck to you.

Baltimore is ranked 1st in the power ranking for a reason.  They are the best team in the NFL.  Joe Flacco is playing superb and this is probably Baltimore's offense in a long time.  Their defense isn't as good as it was but they are still good.  I will wait to see what the weather looks like before choosing my O/U for this game.

REVENGE.... the single worst trend to bet on in NFL football.... revenge is meaningless.... everytime I have ever bet on REVENGE I have lost.... I learned my lesson years ago....

that game was close and in my eyes the ravens really won that game...

but they don't have shutdown corners anymore, and that was the strength of that defense....

I agree with Moneymaker.... Ravens only impressive win was on the road in San Diego, with no Tomlinson....

I say this is a close one and Brady pulls out a 2 min drive....

If Welker plays that's more of a reason to choose the Pats, but either way I see NE winning in a close game....

Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots

Baltimore has never won against New England, but I think this time it will be different. The Ravens are playing very well in all the important sectors in the field. QB Joe Flacco has improved a lot, much more confident on his decisions during this year, thanks to the time his OL provides him to take the best calls and also because he has good offensive players to which he can deliver his passes.

This improvement on the Baltimore's Offense, playing very well both on the passing game and on the rushing game as well, offsets the lower performance of the Ravens D, by far their strongest spot. We could say that the Baltimore's Defence is weaker because they suffer a lot more points than on the previous season, but for me that is not the real reason: in fact, the Ravens D is attacking a lot more, taking more risks. And when they are called to win a game, like it happened on week 2, Ravens D was outstanding, earning a winner. Baltimore has one of the best defenses of the NFL, if not even the best of the league.

Curiously the Patriots have been very good on the Defense, but they are playing very poor on the Offense, which is the opposite of the Ravens performances. When in the early season everything pointed to some  struggle on the defense and a show of force on the offense, we are getting the opposite. The reason why the Pats O is not doing well is due to lack of form of their QB Tom Brady, which hasn't returned to his good old self. Only when that happens, New England will become again a great offensive powerhouse, something that I believe will happen someday this season, but not on this match.

Wes Welker is missing due to injury, he is a very important player for Brady, we still don't know for sure if he will play in this game, the reports I've got say that he hasn't practiced, which is never a good sign. The Pats have played poorly on the passing game, but on the rushing game they are doing very well, but for this match, they will face the best ground defense team in the NFL and the Ravens will make things very hard for the Pats' rushers.

This is a game where Baltimore shows up at a superior level than New England, the Ravens have a great Defense and their Offense has delivered the goods with a lot of points scored, but for this game, life won't be easy for the Ravens, because the Patriots are defending very well, but the New England's offense is having a lot of troubles on the air and their winners were due to their rushing game, which will have a very difficult time against the best ground defense team in the league, and that is why I see a win on the road for the Baltimore Ravens.

You are right this is going to be a  a close one and REVENGE from that  game two years ago will be the factor the Ravens win it. You have to have a player like RAY LEWIS to inact the revenge factor and he will have that whole team pumped.  The only way the Pats win is if Ravens let Brady set in the pocket all day long and i don't think thats going to happen.

Revenge my ass.  Flacco and Ray Rice weren't even on the team then.  Half of the Patriots D didn't play in that game either.  Even if it was only last week, this game is THIS week.  Balt does not want it more than NE does.  Considering the Pats -2 but it is not a no-brainer.

Not sure what happened there, but it was Ray Lewis listed with a head injury.   Of course he'll play, but wondering what that was about.

I'm not sure what playing in that game has to do with Revenge those two are now Ravens and so they feed on the hype.  Anyways you think the Pats are going to win and i think the Ravens will win this contest.  Like G.B. - Min, SD - Pitt, Jets- Saints, Den - Dallas, there are a few toss the coin games this week but only one game were the last time they played the Ravens had their heart rip out of their chests in the last few seconds they totally outplayed the Pats in that game and suck ass Brady found a way to win in the last seconds as they did in their last few games that year.  Give me the Ravens i hope Brady eats dirt all game.  I'm sick of Billacheat and his Pats.
