I've seen several OVER posts here and have seen the line move up already today.
I like the UNDER and here's why: Boston has a great defense even without KG in the lineup and Chicago is just not that great of an offensive threat. Remember that the last game went over only because it went to OT. Yes, 3 of the last 4 meetings between these two teams have all gone over, but this is the playoffs and I doubt that Boston allows to be "punched in the mouth" again tonight.

Comments like "Boston had their wke up call" or "Boston took Chi lightly" or "Boston didnt take them seriously" or "Boston will try harder on D" All these comments are assinine. Its the fucking playoffs and Boston is without their best player and you think they werent serious or trying to win??? you're an idiot!
Boston has lost both matches against Chicago since the trade for Salmons and Miller. Boston doesnt match up well against this new team without KG and the NBA is all about match ups.
This game will come down to the wire again and Chi has a great chance of winning outright so not taking the points would be. Its your money so do with it what you like but if your going to wager it, you better have some better reasons than Boston will be try harder tonight cause if you think they are not giving it their all, you know shit!
Without KG Bostons offense has gotten better avg over 100 points and their d has gotten worse giving up almost 100 per game.
Chicago is on fire scoring +100 and giving up +100 in 13 of their last 17 games (something like that, I dont have it in front me) so the over looks good tonight and taking the points is as good a bet on the board as any.
BOL to all.

Leaning Boston minus points. If the pub keeps jumping on the Bulls and I can get this at -7...I'm taking it. Gonna hold tight before pulling the trigger.
no way that line drops below 8 with public money as balanced as it is, if you want to buy it to 7, maybe that'd work, but if the celts don't win by double digits, i don't think they win at all.
All i know is that to me the books would not have dropped the line at 8.5 like that if they didn't want to ensure a good amount of bulls backers, if they wanted to ensure more money wound up on boston, they would have let us see that line at 8 or maybe even 7.5, the hook implies that boston backers need boston to win by double digits, if that isn't what's set to happen, i believe that with all the people inspired by that bulls performance a line of 8 with no hook would have sufficed as it would have made it easier on boston backers to load up.
As for the newcomer scratch and claw, i would advise you to look up past playoff series, there was this series that happened last year between the sixers and the pistons in round one ( again a 2 seed vs. a 7 seed) in which the sixers came out and shocked the pistons. I know it's the playoffs and everything, but everyone expected the celts to compete for the NBA finals, not lose in round one, and having been there last year, the celtics were not as focused on this round as they should have been, just like the pistons who were focusing on the conference finals which they were trying to win for the first time in 4 years.
i know the c's were trying in the first game, but sometimes there's a difference between playing basketball and playing inspired basketball, and losing the first game of a series to a 7 seed is the kind of thing that will fire up the cetlics and force them to play with more pride and more intensity after being ripped on by everyone in the media on the coaching staff. Now that they aren't prohibitive favorites here, they will adjust and perform imho.
BOS 1Q BOS -8 (buy off hook)

I still feel like we've got a series on our hands and I'm curious to see how well they can game plan to slow down Rose.
And I agree with alot of what scratch n' claw just said. The Celtics may have taken them lightly but you know that wasn't happening in the 2nd half.
But a friend of mine made brought up Ray Allen's unusually bad shooting night and how that's bound not to continue, and we've seen games in which Big Baby and Kendrick Perkins were forces inside this season, especially against Cleveland.
That's insightful line reading there as well Wang. The house obviously wanted Chicago money coming in.
Again - good to have you back. Always nice to have a few of the old pros on the threads offering more than just a pick one way or another.

Celtics favs by 8.5 and lost game 1 Game 2 line is still 8.5...that tells me book ain't stupid
Celtics 103 Bulls 94 is the score to cover and hit the O/U
Bulls are a hard driving 2 guard team but defensively they can't hold Celtics
D Rose will NOT get 36pts tonight or shoot 63%, or shoot 12/12 from FT line. Defensive step outs and switches by Celtics will shut down the acrobatic lane drives tonight.
R Allen will NOT score only 4 pts shooting 1/12 tonight. (avg 18 ppg)
Celtics in game 1 looked like "been there done that, we can beat these guys when we want to" attitude
Tonight they will play and beat Bulls
Taking Celtics -5 (buying insurance)

Bulls at Boston -8.5 "Bball is about matchups"
Bulls w/o L Deng, J James Celtics w/o K Garnett

Boston defense is porous, porous, poor-ass. Comparison to last year is night and day. Bulls are getting to them rim at will. KG provided so much on the defensive end.

it's pretty hard to cap around future injuries to rondo and powe, so admittedly i'm losing faith in the celts, but if i know anything about them it's that they do their thing in the 3rd quarter more so than any other, so i have to rock a 3Q bet here
BOS -3 3Q
if that and the game spread go down, i'm all but ready to sit this series out. At least i got my 1Q wager...
