You missed it because it's not in the political gambling section, but rather the worldwide catastrophe section.

It's right between the earth being taken over by aliens (at 4,000,000,000 to 1 odds) and Zeus destroying the earth by great flooding (2,000,000,000 to 1)

On 5dimes he is +1750 to win.  Don't waste your money on that bet.

One thing people don't realize is that you increase your monetary value by being a "presidential candidate".  For example, if you're a Senator, you may only get paid $20,000 for a speech.  If you're title is "Presidential Nominee" you can get $100,000.  A lot of business guys and people who want to increase their own value or their businesses value will "run for President" to increase their worth.

Guys like Donald Trump don't want to be President.  Herman Cain is similar.  They are business men.  They don't want to be President.   They want to run big businesses, and increase income and wealth.  Nothing wrong with that, but he has no intention of realistically running for President.

i understand your point and it makes a lot of sense.

However, he is self funding his campaign and throwing 10's of millions of dollars into the race.

Why would he do that if he wasnt really serious?

I dont believe it has anything to do with the money, hes worth $9 billion.  Thats not herman cain money.

Guys who have $9 billion dont need to run for president to "increase their value"

The odds he runs as an independent once he fails at republican nomination should be offered.  Got to think that's where he goes after the convention.

hold on guys, I remember a presidential election betting structure the "swiss cheese roulette partial hedge" that might hold tremendous value here.  Maybe this can in be incorporated with a trump bet

The people who back donald will continue too

Donald may have lost the latino vote for now, but its going to be hard to really know where he stands until after the first debate

eh, with univision dropping his miss usa show and nbc now dropping him because of the comment over mexican illegal immigrants...i cant see too many latinos voting for him at the moment

In all fairness to trump though anyone with any common sense knows he was talking in regards to illegal immigrants and not all mexicans.

The Donald filed a $500 million lawsuit on Tuesday against Univision...

The 19-page lawsuit accuses Univision of a "thinly veiled attempt" to stifle Trump's freedom of speech in order to boost Democratic frontrunner Hilary Clinton. The network's principal owner, Haim Saban, is a Clinton fundraiser, according to the lawsuit....

Trump did say he would get Mexico to pay for that triple border fence..........lol

..and who say's you can't make a profit running for president..?

very strategic move on the part of the donald

Hes got a very good chance of winning this lawsuit, and if he does...it makes him look very good

Im thoroughly convinced its not even about the money, it is strictly about the principal.

Donald trump will fight for what he believes is right and in this case, he will most likely win his lawsuit

For whatever polls are worth ...........

A CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday showed Trump had 12 % of the vote among Republicans and Republican-leaners, second only to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who earned 19 %..

. A Quinnipiac poll, which was also out Wednesday, revealed Trump was also tied for second with Dr. Ben Carson among likely Republican caucus voters in Iowa. Carson and Trump each had 10 % of the vote. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker led the pack with 18%.

You should provide links to these so we can read about the polling methodology.

Not everyone might remember how embarrassing this became for certain Covers posters in the last Presidential election. I'm fairly certain the optimism in these polls followed by the disappointment in Obama's reelection, are what caused 14daroad to disappear.

We need someone in the WH that knows how to run a non-profit. Instead of the USA the former United States will be known as the Clinton Foundation.  Just think about the amount of wealth and power the Clinton's will have amassed after Hillary gets done with her 8 years.

It seems like just yesterday they were begging for money to buy a house because they were broke.

Wanna guess who has more money....the Bush family or the Clintons?

Anyway, back to the point of this thread. When 157 Republicans are running and Trump is polling second, that says something about the other 156 candidates

running for president is in part a popularity contest

Bush is only first because of the "bush" name.

Wanna guess who has made more since leaving office?  The Bush family already had money.  Which leads me to my next question. Which one has cashed in more since leaving office?  Is that how they have stayed in touch with people like you?

Anyways back to the point of the thread.  Trump is polling at about 12% and Hillary is probably polling at 4 to 5 times that percentage.  Here's the fun part.  I would say that it is a safe bet to make that she polls higher than 12% of people voting for her for only one reason.  She is female.  Who are the dumb ones?

I'm sure Bush did nothing to keep the wealth in his family.

Oh, and name one ex-President that is hurting for money.

Yep, women are more likely to vote for women, blacks for blacks,
and white affluent for white affluent.

Grow up and learn to think for yourself rather than what you are told to think and feel by the far right wing.

Look at people like Jim Webb, Jon Huntsman, Ross Perot...i.e. true independent thinkers. It will open up a new world for you. There is still hope for you.

In all fairness, anyone with any sense(not just common sense) realizes his comments were ignorant at best, illegals or not.
