"Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military? The only way this ends is for somebody in Russia to take this guy out. You would be doing your country - and the world - a great service."

Is Urals crude swag like Canadian Tar Sands or is it that fire like our Bakken? That Bakken is like Berner Cookies.

    @Midnight1

I know nothing about Russian Petroleum. I know a fair amount about our Bakken Shale formation crude, and the shitty Canadian/Chinese owned crude that flows through "the pipeline" that dudes are always referencing. I don't know anything about Ural crude but for that bargain price, I just wondered if it is shit. Bakken is so rich that it is almost near a refined state. In the Bay Area where it comes into one of many refineries on rail tankers, every now and then there will be a news story about it volatility. And about how if their were to be a derailment, it would be catastrophic because the crude is almost like fuel.

Tar Sands crude, like what comes from Canada, is absolute shit. I wonder if Russian crude is similar. I really don't care about this enough to research it. I only know about Bakken crude because 1) It's ours. 2) I know people who work in the fields, I know people who work at refineries, I know people who have worked in rail stations transferring crude from rail tankers to truck chassis tankers. I only know about Tar Sands because after hearing people talk about "the pipeline" years ago, I did some research. It's insane the amount of people who think "the pipeline" oil is our oil rather than Chinese owned Canadian Tar Sands shit crude that China would be more than happy to pump through our country, refine in our refineries, only to be shipped to China. Lord knows they can't take anymore pollution.

So I read articles that say moving crude oil by train is extremely dangerous.an_nailbiter So let's shutdown the pipelines and force more railcars!

As long as there is demand they will pump it, move it to refineries, refine it, sell it, and it WILL BE USED.

Does not matter WHO uses it, it will get used.

The more idiots create ways to raise the price the more " shit" oil will be pumped. Venezuela has a boatload of tar sand oil. With today's prices away they go.

Only when technology puts fossil fuels in the rear view mirror will this slow down. Cannot click your heels three times and make it happen.

Just saw this comment to share....

With the war in Ukraine raging, the trading unit of Shell can't resist cheap oil, buying Urals crude at the record discount of minus $28.5-a-barrel to Brent. This... um... gives a new meaning to Rothschild's famous saying: "The time to buy is when there's blood in the streets."

I realize war is very complex but to me there is no excuse for Ukraine still asking the West for helmets, protective gear, medicine, bandages, boots, blankets & personal hygiene products.

All that shit should have been sent weeks ago!

Many Russians still don't believe they invaded Ukraine.

Seriously....like where do they think all the young men are? Or why they can't get money from the ATM? Or that Apple stores are closed? Or what happened to our sporting events?

This is what happens under a dictator. You stop thinking for yourself.

Pence: No room in GOP for 'Putin apologists'

“Where would Russian tanks be today if NATO had not expanded the borders of freedom? There is no room in this party for apologists for Putin,” Pence said. “There is only room for champions of freedom.”

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/03/04/mike-pence-no-room-republican-party-putin-apologists/9382130002/

Former VP Mike Pence has sensed the peril of Putin apologists among the Republican party, and warned. I think many Americans would agree with Pence.

And where did you get this information?

From Aljazeera; But many Russians believe they are being unfairly punished for their leader’s actions, feeling it amounts to collective punishment.

Putin’s United Russia party holds a strong majority among lawmakers, and opponents have often complained that elections are not free and fair, with protests breaking out over last year’s parliamentary plebiscite.which

The sanctions were imposed on ordinary people for the last eight years, and now there are new ones, too,” complained 35-year-old St Petersburg resident Kirill Fedorov to Al Jazeera, referring to the previous sanctions imposed on Russia after it occupied Ukraine’s Crimea and Donbas regions in 2014.

“Sanctions were imposed on Putin and his oligarchs only a couple of days ago, after this whole time!”

At the same time, Europe knows perfectly well that we did not elect Putin and our vote doesn’t count, which brings out even more hatred [of Europe]. By imposing sanctions that have affected ordinary people, they have shown even more that they are the enemy.”

I know my opinion will fall of deaf ears and you can stone me later.

Ukraine overthrew their Russian leaning government with a coup. The new president was a former actor who leaned to the West. When his popularity plummeted to below 40% he shutdown opposition media including three TV stations that criticized him. Ukraine had civil war in The Dobas for years. Those Ukrainians who favored Russia were now shutout. Then in June Zelensky said we are ready to join NATO.

This pissed off Putin so he began openly massing troops at the border. He demanded security that NATO defenses would not be facing him from the Ukraine. He blamed Ukraine for ramping up attacks on pro-russians. Zelensky blew him off, Biden said its up to Ukraine if they want to join NATO. So basically the United States was not going resolve this issue.

Leading up to the invasion Zelensky mocked the news that the invasion would start on Wednesday, made fun of it. Putin reacted with the invasion.

Zelensky handed out arms to civilians. And we are dismayed that those civilians are being targeted.

No doubt Ukrainian troops are hiding, meeting at places where they think Russia will not attack. No doubt Russia gets Intel where troops are hiding and bomb those places. No doubt our media shows it as a brutal unjustified attack.

That is what war is. Ugly, brutal, with both sides twisting the actual facts. NBC with Lestor Holtz closed last night with tear jerking pictures occompanied with somber piano music that would make any Russian propagandist proud.

THIS WHOLE THING COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED!!

BUT THE BEAR IS A THUG AND A MURDER SO LET'S BACK HIM INTO A CORNER AND DECLARE OURSELVES RIGHTOUS!!!

    WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

    Sweden

    STOCKHOLM/COPENHAGEN (Reuters) -

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has for the first time seen a majority of Swedes in favour of joining NATO, according to a poll, and signs are the political landscape could change too in a country long known for neutrality.

Sweden has not been in a war since 1814 and has built its foreign policy on "non-participation in military alliances."

But poll on Friday by Demoskop and commissioned by Aftonbladet newspaper, showed 51% of Swedes are now in favour of NATO membership, up from 42% in January. People against joining fell to 27% from 37%.

an_light It's the first time ever such a poll has shown a majority in favour.

    @UNIMAN

Americans have to accept some fault in this. This is the analogy I came up with a couple months ago after talking with some Ukrainians on Reddit. Again, this was months ago and before the invasion.

So let's say you're a kid with an alcoholic, at times abusive, highly volatile parent. And you're never know when this parent is gonna flip out and lose it on you. They have been chill as of late though. So while you live in somewhat of a perpetual state of fear, life has some semblance of normalcy. Then one day some nosy do-gooder teacher takes a liking to you. Starts asking about your home life. Asking for parent teacher conferences, Threatening to call CPS. You go home one day and that volatile parent who has been chill beats you.

You don't want to blame the teacher for taking an interest in a student. Or what calling out an unhealthy, abusive relationship but that teacher doesn't have to live in that house. The kid does. So you're not helping. You're just making it hot for that kid. Do you think involving CPS is gonna make things better for that kid? Do you thing attempting to take that kid away is better? Do know how bad the foster system is? How rife with abuse? Sometimes you have to just mind your business.

The analogy is mines. The sentiment was of these Ukrainians in a subreddit that wasn't even on this topic. It just went there. Of the three who chimed in, none were Pro-Russian. None were saying they were against America's involvement in Ukraine. They were more so saying that before, atleast they knew what to expect. Things were pretty chill. Now they're worried some shit is gonna pop off. You don't have to live here, two bedrooms down from this abusive parent. We do.

America doesn't always have the answers. And we insist on thrusting ourselves into these regime change wars, a term I borrow from Tulsi Gabbert, we insist on this to 1) Remake the world in our image, and 2) Prop up the military industrial complex. We have been trying to turn the Ukraine into Soviet America for years and if you look at it from Putin's end, this isn't a defense of his actions, but the geographical significance can't be ignored. Has anyone posting here acknowledged the proximity of Ukraine to Moscow, to St. Pete, etc. Russia doesn't have it's major cities in the bosom of Russia. They're right there. Putin may be a mad man but he's no dummy. And he realized the significance of what has been going on in the Ukraine. I'm not defending him by any stretch but given the circumstances, I probably make the same move.

Due to possible uprising from Russians because of severe economy sanctions by the Wester countries, US State Department and British Government have urged Americans and British citizens to leave Russia. The Russian economy is hammered by heavy sanctions from the world, this will greatly impact Russian people and may cause uprising against Vladimir Putin and his regime.

The same men who engineered the covid plandemic hysteria, are now making a segue directly into provoking a World War 3 scenario and urging the Covidian Cultists to rally around the Ukrainian flag and their brave patriot army to fight off the evil psychopath despot of Russia. It doesn’t matter that a week ago these dupes couldn’t find Ukraine on a map, had never seen their flag, didn’t know the comedian president of Ukraine’s name, and had no idea about the CIA coup that overthrew the actual president of Ukraine in 2014. Animal mindlessness is their specialty. And those trying to cause global destruction in order to build back better are wallowing in the apparent success of their plan thus far.
