- everything the President said is an easily-disproven lie, yet it looks like he entirely believes this story is real

- he clearly has dementia
- I can’t imagine why anyone would be ok with Dementia J Trump being president. It’s why millions of Republicans, centrists, and Democrats think he is unfit for office.

If you speak to someone with real cognitive difficulties, you’ll notice that they start melding their real/actual past with other famous events that they had nothing to do with. It’s often not intentional. But if you read dementia literature, they advise relatives of said people to avoid confronting them about their lies - it just makes them defensive, hostile, and upset. Sound a lot like Trump when he gets confronted with an old quote he doesn’t like.
