Trump may have hammered the final nail in his coffin today, What is he thinking?

I don't get this, it seems to be about he said she said. Are there smoking guns ? That means evidence , not  innuendo.
I  think this Trump is a blowhard, but was the law broken, or is this Democrat sour grapes, aka Gore, hanging chads, 2000 ?

I think it's virtually impossible to have so many surrogates/subordinates contacting the Russians for various reasons, but the person at the top supposedly didn't know anything that was occurring.  I'm given two choices in that scenario, which is exactly what happened.  Trump is incompetent and doesn't know what's going on with anyone around him or that he removed himself enough from the process so he can't be implicated.  I choose to believe the second option and that's why I'm certain nothing is going to happen to him.  Ignorance is a terrible defense because I'm sure Trump had to know when members of his staff were going on trips or had meetings arranged.
