Meaning it is to new to have a valid option for an opinion either for against that being stated as clear as I can this is the respective changes.
First homelessness will be illegal , now the people suffering homelessness is going to be taken to hospital involuntary commitment. They will then have medical care to treat underlying concerns, whether mental or physical and the underlining problems of substance use.
Trump feels the current policy does not serve the homeless community or the non homeless citizens
So he feels this is strategic initiative to end homelessness in America.
The opposition is that it will redirect funds away from agencies in place to deal with homelessness, dug addiction and disease.
I am disgusted by the previous policy by allowing people to die on the streets from exposure and a hospital room could be a real solution. The profits can be directly beneficial to staff and treatment programs that are poorly funded now.
This is a study situation where the current level of human trafficking and serious crimes of rape murder .
But it would prevent the exploitation of human beings being caught in the bus stop pizza parlor activity of the past....
I leave this an open thread to the point of how you feel about 1 homelessness and 2 if this policy will prevent deaths and and long suffering. .
And final word outside of the updates to numbers timelines and how this will actually be implemented as ways and means committee deal with the actual nuts and bolts and go through the weeds here....

National alliance to end homelessness denounces Trump policy as punitive and ineffective. Cities already ban street camps and open drug use. US abandoned forced institutionalization decades ago because it was too expensive and raised legal concerns. Locking people up in asylums is not the right way to end homelessness which is caused mainly by poverty and lack of affordable housing.

How much money does the alliance to end homelessness stand to actually lose and can that some cover hospital and prison costs.
? Homelessness is caused by trama, loss of job is caused by employee downsizing initiatives such as what doge policies created. For adolescence it always come back to trama in home. Typically Kids don't runaway from loving hones that emotionally support them.
However the patch work frame work of current policy is terribly inadequate and really outside of DC. Which is directly under federal jurisdiction, a state by state weighs and means committee and budget offices will assess feasibility of this shift in approaches.
They still need more shelters space to transition from inpatient to out patient treatment and still further a large scale home development plan must be implemented to make room for emerging potential renters of apartment and rooms....
The YMCA is not prepared to accept this many or they would. Of already. If we could place a large rural development and hud policy stradgy to first offer money to recondition hones with contracts to complete this would give those in cities a chance to move from rental to ownerships in association. These rents could allow people in rooms to move into apartment and free up beds.
The approach to jail or hospital is a first step on a long road to recovery. And there has to infrastructure in place to cope with these potential issues...
We need more housing and rounding up illegal and deporting them will not fix our housing crisis...
That said a lot has to be built to actually implement the policy. And should of been thought through when implementing the executive order to change it.
