Troops cannot be deployed in Portland Oregon.

BREAKING NOW: Federal judge in Portland rules that the Trump administration CANNOT deploy the National Guard to the city, and grants Oregon and Portland a PERMANENT injunction.

Troops were blocked from deploying to Portland by a temporary court order. Now that order is permanent.

No one is above the law.  Presidents can only federalize national guard under certain conditions.  However conditions in Portland don't warrant deployment of military and local law enforcement can handle the situation.  For example, protection of federal buildings.  

Oddly, Trump wants to deploy troops in cities where they are unwanted.  However he refuses to deploy national guard to protect capitol during January 6 attack despite calls for help.  Coup attempts and use of military against civilians are what dictators do.

The "if even one" argument has been made here on covers when talking about ICE and immigrants.

I'll make it here.  If even one resident feels their city leadership has failed them and seeks refuge from the government then I do not think "unwanted" is a fair term.

 Yep.....some here have claimed they're against capital punishment because "if even one" mistake is made it's too many. But others here will justify an American being killed by an illegal because "you're more likely to be harmed by an American than an illegal". Funny how that works.

That's a very logical interpretation of what is happening. The argument  kind of falls flat but supports the narrative being conveyed at the moment.

Federal > State

So I guess now the whole should dictate to the individual who they live who they marry where they work how many children they can have...cause the feds know best????
