establishing Juneteenth as a federal holiday;
it subsequently passed through the House of Representatives
by a 415 – 14 vote
President Joe Biden signed the bill on June 17, 2021
**NOTE: All 14 members of Congress who voted *AGAINST*
making Juneteenth a federal holiday were Republicans.
Americans are feeling much better about inflation
Washington, DC CNN —
Americans are feeling upbeat about inflation and
the economy, according to the University of Michigan’s
latest consumer survey.
The university’s preliminary reading for June showed
that consumer sentiment rose 8% from the prior month,
“reflecting greater optimism as inflation eased and
policymakers resolved the debt ceiling crisis,”
according to a release.
Sentiment is at its highest level in four months.

Let's all hope it continues going well, but prior interest rate hiking cycles have more often than not ended poorly. We should know in the next 6 months or so if all the tightening of credit conditions wacks the economy or not. A spike in Unemployment will be the tell.... we shall see.

There's just no rational way to ignore or underestimate that significance.
The catastrophe on several fronts which the republicans left for President Biden is completely unprecedented. Not even the republican disaster left for Obama/Biden in 2009 comes close by comparison and that was the worst since the great depression over 90 years ago.

I'd hope for sooner than that of course but I initially thought this would end by last Christmas and that was six months ago and counting so I'm getting the feeling this could be like another Afghanistan invasion for the Russkies and linger far longer than we think
