i find this subject fascinating...... and there have been lots of questionable pardons..... and trump self-pardoning himself wouldn't be as bad as bill clinton pardoning marc rich. a fugitive FFS.

a bunch of questions........ should preface by saying pardons are pretty strong. not easily challenged.

1) can trump pardon self?

2) pardon anyone he may have done criminal activities with? THIS IS A BIG ONE

3) family members..... bill clinton pardoned his brother.

4) pardons for things that haven't come to light or charged or convicted. things that happened in the past.

5) pardons for THINGS THAT HAVEN'T HAPPENED YET.... LOL

6) selling pardons..... VERY BAD...... hopefully he loses ability to make pardons.

7) pence temporarily become president so he can give DJT pardon

8) will pardonee being admitting guilt?... unless it's compassion or wrongful conviction pardon, this is ASSUMED... THIS IS PRETTY BIG TOO....

9) usually done in conjunction with DOJ.... be we all know DJT and customs

10) pardon for the guy carrying semi-automatic around a volatile rally/protest... LOL again

there must be other stuff....... and as i said, there have definitely been lots of questionable pardons. and political/administration pardons.

on #8, conrad black got a pardon and walks around saying that proved him innocent.... shouldn't that pardon be revoked? didn't he implicitly agree to those terms. IT IS VERY MURKY OF COURSE...... trump kids will do the same. just say they did pardon because they were going to be persecuted.

NOTHING TO DO WITH PARDONS.... can a convicted criminal hold public office? presidency in particular?

also, would the pardons specify what general areas it covers? or would it be even more specific?  let's say a pre-emptive pardon for XXXXXX who served in trump administration (or obama admin. my question is generic).

and then it turns out he was a serial rapist when he was in college. police crack some cold cases  ....... surely the pardon doesn't cover that... or does it?

Can't pardon himself. He would have to step down, have Pence sworn in, then ask Pence to pardon him.

Funny I cant remember Obama having to be worried about pardoning himself or his family,when he was leaving office.

Also a self-pardon will surely be challenged ... Be very disappointed if SCOTUS upholds that. Consensus seems to be it has no merit
