I have been motivated by the left's histrionics on all things Trump, and their apparent belief that the world has ended because of him, to take a close look at his first 30 days in office.

I am making this review from a perspective of what is most important in everyone's life, and that is their own lives, and that of their loved ones.

On January 19th my family and I had health care (albeit absurdly expensive)
On February 21st we still have health care (still absurdly expensive)

On Jan 19th I owned my own company which was doing well.
On February 21st I still own my own company with no change in revenue.

On Jan 19th I enjoyed all the freedoms allowed by our constitution.
On Feb 21st I still enjoy those same freedoms, although the left is trying hard to silence freedom of speech.

On Jan 19th I was a reasonably content, happy individual.
On Feb 21st I remain a reasonably content, happy individual.

In conclusion, my life is pretty much the same in every facet since President Trump was sworn into office.

Unfortunately for way too many others, there has been one dramatic change in their lives since January 20th, and that is that they are no longer happy and content. They blame this on the President, but any decent psychologist would explain it has little to do with the President and everything to do with those individuals inability to have a reasonable, rational response to not getting what they want.

I promise you that your lives will not have a dramatic change anytime soon as a result of Trump being President.

Take a deep breath, folks ... and please change the channel, it is making you unhappy!!!

Spends 8 years telling everyone how Obama is ruining his life, but now all is well under the sun. But then Obama had a tan.

    Yawn.

It's not been a good month Hugh

The travel ban being rejected, The constant bickering with allies, The firing of Flynn etc. Don't get me wrong he has attacked his pre election policies head on which is admirable but nothing has yet worked out for him aside from the energy which wall street has shown since he became elected.

The transition to Trump has not been a smooth one, but not the disaster that the MSM would like you to believe.
I could argue that the President has been productive, but that's not the point of this thread.

My life is exactly the same as it was 30 days ago.
It will be the same next month, and the next, and the next and the ....

Generally, federal governments have lesser effect than municipal governments on most people.  Despite some bragging, Trump really hasn't achieved as much as Obama in the first month of office.  No significant new legislation except for failed travel ban blocked by courts. Whereas Obama introduced a big economic stimulus package.

    As expected ...
100 days in and my life remains unchanged

With the exception of the obvious, expected changes that come over a period of time, not much has changed.

Off the top of my head, the largest change to me personally might have been the enactment of Obamacare.
In 2017 I will pay $33,400 for health insurance.
I realize Obamacare works for some, but it does not work for Hugh.

The point of this thread is not to defend President Trump, but to point out that no single President has a significant effect on the overwhelming majorities daily life.

The maniacal rantings going on in this country are laughable.
IMO, some people look for excuses to be angry, and to them politics provides that excuse. This goes for supporters of both parties.

Life is short ... enjoy your time here.
If something upsets you, ignore it.
If it's on TV and causes you anger, change the channel.
If a movie saddens you, watch 'Something About Mary' instead.
Negative people in your life, then get new friends.

Life is not difficult, if we all would just work to enjoy it and stop looking for reasons to be angry.

I couldn't agree more that no one has more impact on our own lives than us.

I completely understand your frustration with Obamacare. However, Trump promised to repeal that and it's pretty much been a giant disappointment so far.

I don't understand how people consider Trump's first 100 days a success in any aspect. He's failed on multiple promises and people give him a pass. He's spent more time at his own golf courses, charging the government and essentially monetizing the Presidency, and people on here are giving him a pass. At least Bush and Obama waited a fair amount of time before taking vacations.

If my life improves from Trump's decisions, then so be it, and I am a full supporter. Right now, not much change. However, he has hit the ball out of the ballpark in his first 100 days, even though detractors say otherwise. The detractors will motivate him even more. He loves to be doubted.

What exactly has Trump done that wasn't already in place before he took office?

of course that list is ridiculous and since every day is opposite day for sabanesque, the fact that the economy gets a "double check" after yesterday's report is fitting.

however, i can tell you that the federal government is devoting more money and resources to deportations.  now, it's hard to say whether that is good or bad.  obviously, money and resources spent here means less money and resources elsewhere and based on what we've seen, they aren't going after the people they should, but we obviously deal with a small sample and it's still too early to see what the real impact is.  like most things, as hugh says, it won't have any impact on any of us, but it is one definite change.

And when I go to my local Home Depot, I do not the parking lots now filled with illegals trying to work for the day. Loitering arrogantly and defiantly while police cars drive by. They are giving up. This makes me immensely glad. And I hope they have another "Day Without Immigrants" because they are becoming more commonplace evryday, and that is good. Very good.

1.3 BILLION dollars is what the Clinton campaign spent to come in 2nd place. And pathetically (and parenthetically) we see Chelsea trying to fill in the void and sense of loss as she attempts to continue the Clinton Crime Family legacy.

I'll try it one more time. What exactly has Trump done that wasn't already happening, or in place, before he took office?

Not what the Clinton's spent or what Obama or Bush did. What has Trump done specifically that is so great. What promises did he make that he has lived up to?

In case you may not have noticed, there is a new name on the SCOTUS judge roster.

That is enough all by itself.

Obama took 14 months to pass obamacare so I'm not shocked that it hasn't been dismantled quite yet, rather I'm happy that they spend more time to better chance getting the replacement correct.

Obama was a huge vagina when it came to foreign policy and the world knew it. Not shocked that liberals have not come to that realization still. Bill Maher seems to be the only liberal to have some kind of grip on why the left lost the election.

I'm all for reducing government regulations in certain areas. I'm not sure the EPA is the one I would start with though. That might be one of the last ones I would look to reduce. That's just me though. I kinda care about the environment. Not to the extent of being a tree hugger, I do believer there can be a balance between being industrious and not making our cities look like Beijing in a smog haze in August.

I would love for taxes to be reduced as well. My only question is, where do we make up for the shortfalls in tax revenue if we're going to increase our military spending? Something has to give. I think it's a bit disingenuous to say that decreasing taxes for rich people and businesses will automatically lead to enough growth that it will make up for the shortfall in revenue.

The stock market has been increasing for a while now. I don't think we can solely attribute this to Trump. The unemployment rate has been decreasing for a while as well. I agree that the unemployment numbers can be easily manipulated depending on labor participation rate, etc. I would love to see more quality jobs but I don't want to see it at the expense of the free market like Trump did with Carrier.

Trump laid out a 100 day plan when he was campaigning. How is he doing on that? Didn't he say he wouldn't take a vacation (even I think he should take vacations once in a while) and he's gone golfing nearly every weekend....at his own resorts....while charging the government to do it. And this, for some reason, doesn't bother you.

I didn't realize asking simple questions was being combative. You need to relax a little bit Saban. Thanks for at least trying to answer my question though.

From your response I see that it took Trump 100 days to dismantle the EPA and nominate a Supreme Court judge, which is more an accomplishment of opportunity rather than anything else.

Thanks buddy  I think I'll go enjoy my capri sun with some Tito's now.

Hey Bowlslit, how are you doing buddy? Good to see you back. How's the wife? Hope she stopped her infidelities finally.

I'd say nominating a SCOTUS is almost as much about opportunity as anything else. But yes, that is an accomplishment. Thanks for providing an answer. I'm glad it didn't take you three attempts like some others on here.

I guess we have different standards for the Presidents accomplishments for 100 days worth of work. SCOTUS was a lay up for Trump. I feel like he should have done more in 100 days.

I'm actually quite shocked Obamacare hasn't been dismantled yet given the GOP's hold on the government. They're all against it, seems like it should have been done the first week Trump had office. Didn't he promise something like this? Something like the first day he's starting the process of repealing Obamacare? What's taking so long with this Bowl? Seems like this should be an automatic given how much everyone hates it. Just let the free markets handle health care.

I get your hatred for Obama for not starting needless wars overseas. I'm with you buddy, lets start wars with everyone. Never ending, perpetual war. Look at us wrong, let's nuke them. We should turn Syria into the next Iraq. That turned out well right?

That is enough all by itself.

Obama took 14 months to pass obamacare so I'm not shocked that it hasn't been dismantled quite yet, rather I'm happy that they spend more time to better chance getting the replacement correct.

Obama was a huge vagina when it came to foreign policy and the world knew it. Not shocked that liberals have not come to that realization still. Bill Maher seems to be the only liberal to have some kind of grip on why the left lost the election.

The history books will not say one word about any presidents first 100 days.

Nobody remembers if Obama or Bush had a good first 100 days.

All this is just liberals trying to grease the rails for criticism.

All I know is that I have at least 3+ more years to keep doing my Deon Sanders touchdown dance every time I think about the fact that Hillary didn't win her 'slam dunk' election.

You know, the election that sent 125 million liberals into a ginormous temper tantrum.

Did I hear Civil War ?

On this date in 1863............... during the battle of Chancellorsville three Confederate Infantry divisions, under the command of General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, launched a crushing attack on the right flank of General Oliver O. Howard's XI Corp.

The attack pushed General Howard's men back a mile and a quarter. Later in the Evening, General Jackson and his staff were fired on by troops of their own army. Jackson was hit three times. He would die 8 days later from complications from his wounds from friendly fire.

Do I need to embarrass you by citing a comment you made about Trump equating to less government?

Or do you want to clarify your hypocrisy now before I cite the post.

In fairness, quite a few of Trump's actions are so there will be less government

Trumps actions seem to be very reactionary and childish, much like his personality.

I am pretty bothered with his lack of environmental concern and I am sure it will not get better going forward with his Wall Street swamp buddies calling the shots.
