Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. US invasion of Iraq in 2003 is widely considered a mistake. The invasion aimed to eliminate weapons of mass destruction and establish a democracy. But US underestimated the challenges of occupying Iraq and establishing a stable government. There are risks if US join Israel in attacking Iran.
