Mattis views do not align with President Trumps'..so it's time to go.He will be replaced with another patriot..
Mattis is stepping down after the president on Wednesday ordered that the U.S. withdraw its troop presence in Syria....and war-hawk Nancy Pelosi also opposes the move..She wants troops to stay longer and allow more American lives to be lost in a battle we should not have been in ,,in the first place..
I guess, if both of them oppose getting out of Syria they will really oppose President Trump's plan to start the reduction of American forces in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan in the coming weeks...The move will
come as the first stage of a phased drawdown and the start of a

The Syria conflict, now in its eighth year and U.S. military presence in Syria has not been authorized by Congress.. Yet, House speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi favors U.S. military presence in Syria.. Our continue presence in Syria carries significant risks one being the loss of more of our military personal..let alone an increase in military expenditures...
Instead of Pelosi calling for U.S. military presence in Syria she should first be calling for Congress to formally authorize it.
In 2014 this same Nancy PelosI backed legislation that authorized President Obama to train and equip Syrian rebels against Islamic terrorist groups ..saying at the time that the legislation does not authorize the use of U.S.
combat forces in the region ..
Democrats, Pelosi said,she doesn't support any use of American
troops in Syria ...
“I don’t think the American people are up for it,” Pelosi said. “I don’t that it would even achieve success to send troops in. But whatever it is, I’m against it.”

So,now 4 years later ...under President Trump she's all in on keeping troops in Syria..
Obviously Nancy Pelosi is showing signs of dementia/ Alzheimers, at times during resent interviews she cannot formulate full sentences and constantly repeats herself..the 78-year-old congresswoman behaved like a senile senior and it's getting worse..

The war in Afghanistan started on 7th October 2001..
Under Obama America was at war in Afghanistan for the full 8 years of his presidency...thus during Obama's presidency we have been at war longer that any other American president...including GWBush..

Speaking of math; how did Obama have a full 8 years of Afghanistan? Did he declare war at his inauguration or did he inherit that war? You charge Bush with only seven years and four months of a war HE started and contend that makes him less responsible? Yep, great math. By the way, Obama got bin Laden, another problem Bush couldn't handle.

We have been in Afghanistan since RR...lets not kid ourselves, in fact I bet even prior to RR, but for sure during his reign of terror.
Clinton slowed down the military but really we havent left the region since RR and this facade of exiting Syria does not mean anything, we are still in the region and will keep staying in the region likely forever.
Obama this or Bush that, its all silliness. The military has little political affiliation it will keep functioning irregardless of which party is in power.
