Senate Graham Platner vs Susan Collins

Looks like Graham platner is to resign and Mills the runner up in ranked voting to take his place on general ballot ... Possible caucus is considering Janet mills dr shah or Troy to face collins ..

Looks like Susan will keep her seat....

I am not so sure.  Those folks like Mills up there. 

She lost to platner 75 to 17 percent in a three way primary battle . Within a democratic party who placed establishment candidate Hannah Pingree progressive candidate fell to third with dr shah winning the popular vote but losing in a ranked choice run off against Pingree .

However there won't be another primary if Graham with draws but a caucus within the party to place a candidate in lyi of Graham hence shah and jackson are being tossed into ring as mentionable candidate alternative to mills.

The whole thing casts this forced option into the party as it did with trump with bidens withdrawal and realistically a solid win for collins no matter what candidate she actually faces... Mills is not popular.

Dr Shah, is intelligent but born in New Delphi India and not born in Maine. Jackson only places third behind shah and Pingree but the margin between shah and 4th was less than 10 percent in the governor run off with no candidate breaking 30 percent in the open election.

Shah had 27 Pingree 23 jackson 21 and bellows with 19 percent of vote.

Bottom line .Maine is red leaning in this race.

Collins strengths never missed a vote.

Committee member on appropriation and ways and means. Pivitol figure in bringing cooperative compromises in pivitol .oments in her career and willing to work across the aisle to find defense the government and social security.

Works for veterans hospital access , elderly and aging concerns and infrastructure investments in Maine. 

She wins this without any major obstacles she returns to the Senate.

Wrong internal polling has Graham up by 2! Polling suggests if Graham is replaced Dems will win by a larger margin. Maine is Not full of radical Dems. Politico is the source of the hit pieces they are tied to AIPAC = Israel.

Repubs were bragging they were gonna wait to AFTER the Deadline so Dems couldn’t replace him! What you’re witnessing is the Power of Israel over USA Politics, Dem Power Struggle, & a Republican Party that is complete Mess. Unlike Trump Graham doesn’t have Billions to fight law suits & Dems are in a Power Struggle between Radical left & traditional left, both sides support Israel. AOC & Sanders may talk anti Israel & Pro Palestine but they don’t do anything about it.

Setting a side the Old guards in both Parties & Christian Cults the only people in the USA who support Israel are the Baby Boomers who’re dying off. Younger Generation hates Israel that’s why Charlie Kirk was assassinated.

Graham Platner announced Wednesday he’s ending his Senate campaign, capping a chaotic few days of uncertainty and Democratic infighting and leaving the party without a candidate in the vitally important Maine race this fall.

It looks like the Internal polling everyone was using to base decisions on is wrong. Platner was not as strong as we thought. Repubs walked straight into a trap Dems should put forth a stronger candidate winning Maine easily.

Sexual assault is a crime so where is the indictment, or was it more to do with removing the oyster farmer from the ticket than serving justice?

Yeah.  I think the guy had a lot of baggage.

But I do not like that so many of these things only come out when someone becomes famous or is about to make a big move publicly.

Of course, if the allegation(s) is true it is horrible.  Sexual assault is a crime and should be punished.

But when there is no investigation and no indictment and just his-word and her-word -- it can look suspicious.

I understand that the victim is traumatized and they often feel embarrassed, etc.

But it is frustrating when they wait years later to come forward.  I get that if there is a multiple allegations they can snowball because once one or two come forward others feel more comfortable coming forward.

I think with Platner it just came down to a preponderance of so many things and this was just the last straw, so to speak.

I think there may be a rush to Mills because she has the name, resume, and is so much more palatable.

I think, despite the bad things Maine has experienced under Mills, that folks there are tired of Collins.

Maybe Mills could be a stop-gap until a better candidate can be found next round.  Because I got the sense she is not completely interested in this position.  

I think she was ready to go into 'retirement' but folks pushed her to run because she had a decent chance to beat Collins.  Then a younger person stepped in and folks really are tired of so many old politicians.

It will be interesting.

Actually mills hasn't petitioned for the parties nomination so far shannon bellows , Troy Jackson and dr shah have thrown their hat into ring....

4,3,2 in the governor contest....

Shah was 2nd but his handicap was Indian born.

Bellows Ties to mills administration she is secretary of state has made her very unpopular...

Jackson is same type of labor worker progressive as Graham but does little to bring the other factions of the party together....

Regardless they all give the same feel as harris did in presidential election. Something forced upon us instead of someone who actually won the primary...

Susan is a rock in support in Maine and regardless of the kavanaugh factor she will win this...

Same note, if the victim wanted Collins she would of dropped this bomb shell when Graham couldn't be removed....

Democrats are still the solid favorite to win the Maine Senate seat. Republicans are idiots for allowing desperate Israel to launch these attacks before the replacement cut off date.

The victim has no evidence to support her story look into it, it’s not there. Politico, CNN, & Repubs knew it but still ran with it. Thus securing this seat for the Dems.
