Its so crazy how trump is trying to turn our countries 250th birthday happening because of trump being born into this world.

No, it's not normal! Not even our current queens or kings do something like this. We have Gorm the Old's emblem on the Jelling Stone, along with the Harald Bluetooth emblem in the corner. That is our first real king, and the two runic stones mark the foundation of Denmark. And Bluetooth tamed us and turned us to Christianity!

So you normally depict important figures or events that have shaped your history and made you 'American'.

So it is basically him telling you - that he is the most important person in your history - which surprises no one that he thinks of himself like that - if it was to celebrate your 250 years birthday - he would have chosen George Washington 

I would personally not obsess over the fact that other presidents haven’t - because you are basically so young a nation you are still finding your footings and directions - but normally important figures don’t highlight them being important themselves - that is a privilege of the folks that outlive you to decide

 I am not sure he has any involvement in the planning of these things.  I am sure the folks involved with this and some in the administration decided to recognize whomever the people had elected at the historic time to be their President. 

But, even with the stamps where usually they remember deceased people, there have been living people from time to time on them.

The same thing with commemorative coins.  Granted, Trump would be only the second sitting President on one.  President Coolidge was on a Sesquicentennial commemorative coin.  So, I am sure someone just decided it was a great time in the country's history and wanted to commemorate it with who was President at the time.

The passport thing is unique.  But so is the celebration.  250 is a nice number to celebrate.  

The folks that do not like the man will not like it. I am sure some folks will get one just for the celebration aspect and for some of the other symbols and features that are celebrated.

The rest will not care at all.

You should lean off the Trump excuse scheme it just has no validity and reality in the slightest. It would be smarter to just admit the obvious and actually say something like it is not a good look, not appropriate, shows a lack of respect and character just stuff that shows you are not 100% blindly partisan.

Trump is King Grifter, just come to terms with that and maybe have a higher standard for what you expect from someone you voted for and cheerlead with a lack of ability to admit what a schmuck he is.

 Again it is so blatantly obvious that you are covering for the guy it is laughable. Trump has a life history of being a grifter yet you try and suggest in this case he isnt. Who would forward this nonsense exactly? Would it be someone from his corporate/family entity or would it be a democrat who thought Trump was the greatest yet?

Either way the origin of this is Trump or his machine, there is no precedence of grifting like this over and over and over and over and yet no Trump has nothing to do with it even though every single aspect of his enterprise is about his name, his face and his influence. Yeah the correlation is random and there is no instance of this happening for his entire adult life.

If it was to celebrate the 250 years you would of course choose the president that started it all - don’t you consider him more relevant for that celebration than the random guy that won the dice roll of being president when that milestone was hit - if Trump had been smart he would have asked Obama if he wanted to be the one featured - at least he represent your first black president etc. - and he would have been given so much free “goodwill” - I know he of course never would do that - I would have done that if I was him - even if I didn’t like Obama 

I would have a picture of Washington, Lincoln and Obama - I think those three presidents represent the best developments in what should define you as a country or at least best represent the image you should have to the outside world - then you can of course deal with all your racism etc internally but this is just a showcase window - to how fucked you are to the outside world

 Yeah.  I don’t see anyone gleeful about it from his side.  I only see folks that hate the man that are against it.  
But the TDS has made so many unhinged that they just hate things they normally would be okay with if it weren’t Trump in office.  
Of the 4-5 states that do not want to join one of the Federal celebrations, a few are expected just because of him.  But NC, that even voted for Trump? Even MD, with the proximity to DC?  PA can be understood because so many folks assume Shapiro is more moderate than he really is.  But why refuse to attend with all of its rich history?

No matter what good is going on in the greatest country the world has ever seen and the great strides that have been made—they will refuse to acknowledge it or give credit just because a man they hate is in office.  This is a man they have never even met and many actually liked the guy before he ran for President as a Republican.

I never saw anywhere that Trump pushed for this.  Maybe he did.  But why is it only one side cares and the other side is not celebrating or even aware of it?

I am sure there was not this sort of pushback on including Coolidge on the Sesquicentennial coin.  

Some folks just will not put politics aside for anything at all.  So, it is not ‘cover’ for the guy.  I just do not care that someone decided to do a commemoration this way — again.  I would not care no matter who was in office at the time.  But the TDS crowd thinks it is the worst thing ever.
It is ridiculous.

 Because the narrative means that much, the dirty disgusting narrative that the TNC forwards is that critical there can be no backing off the leader of the narrative so it is rare you see anyone actually admit and acknowledge what he is. There are some podcast interviewers that go to Trump events and interview these WHITE middle to older age folks who attend these oddities and the response is identical to what Raiders did here. There is never an answer to direct fact and truth and the excuses that lot uses to throw shade on Trump and cover for him are pretty lousy.
