In New York, a court revealed that a leading citizen had cooked the books by inflating questionable figures without any support in reality. Moreover, his wild overvaluation was widely viewed as motivated by his self-aggrandizement. The final reported figures are so absurdly inflated that they were rejected in their entirety. In the end, he was off by over half a billion dollars.

That man is Judge Arthur Engoron.

After a New York appellate court unanimously threw out Engoron's absurd half-a-billion-dollar judgment and interest against President Donald Trump, the irony was crushing. It was Engoron who seemed, as he characterized Trump witnesses, as having "simply denied reality." It made his notorious reliance on an assessment of Mar-a-Lago as worth between $18 million and $27.6 million seem like good accounting.  In the end, he could not get a single judge to preserve a single dollar of that fine.

The conviction for 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up a hush-money payment stands. Following his 2024 presidential election victory, Trump's motion to have the verdict thrown out was rejected by a judge and saying still Trump engaged in fraud by inflating his assets. Other punishments, such as a temporary ban on Trump and his sons from holding leadership positions in New York companies, also remain in place. He is still convicted National Disgrace! The sentence took into account Trump's upcoming second term in the White House…Trump is a National Disgraced convicted felon & Trump was found liable in two civil lawsuits for sexually abusing and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll. He is currently appealing the jury's decisions, which ordered him to pay over $88 million in damages.….I shake my head wonder what how person can not want to spit when seeing his image or hearing his winning voice….President Loser #1

    @THEMUGG

It was bullshit as like the others. Americans would not elect a 34 times convicted felon unless they believed it as crap. AND THEY DID. an_light

Joe, the covering up hush money, for starters. So be boned a pornstar in Vegas. And it was completely consensual. What happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas but as Butters Stotch once said, "Bitches can't be trusted." Are we really going to act like Puritans because this dude paid off a pornstar to keep her mouth shut?

E.Jean Carroll. Where do I start with E.Jean Carroll. As I have said million times, anyone who thinks Trump raped E.Jean Carroll in a Bergdorf dressing room had never read anything about that case. She is a psychopath. She also accused Les Moonves of sexual assault. I have gone over the details, or lack there of, in that case a million times. And it is a lot of typing to fall on dead ears so I won't do it here. Blind eyes? Whatever. I will say this though. E.Jean Carroll accused Donald Trump of penetrating her vagina with his penis. Rape. The jury basically said, "Yeah, naw, we don't believe that shit but sure, maybe he finger banged you." And that's what he was liable for. In a case based solely on victim testimony, with zero evidence, the jury who found him liable didn't even really believe her story.

So a nutjob comes out of nowhere claiming Donald Trump raped her, in a damn Bergdorf dressing room. He says she’s loony toons. The find him liable for that. Then they extend the statute of limitations of such civil cases just in time for him to be sued, and they find him liable, but not for entirely what she accused him of. The whole thing stinks.

And the epilogue to it all. Trump was accused of rape. Penis in vagina rape. He was found liable for penetrating her with his digits, which doesn't constitute rape in New York. So he's not a convicted sex offender, because it wad a civil case. And he wasn't found to be a rapist either. Left the judge to make some speech about how, "it's rape in her book." GTFOH. It was always a bullshit story stolen from a Law and Order episode.

Ill take the high road, America is the best country in the world cause even people who spread misinformation are free to do so.....Even a convicted felon who believes rich man can grab women by there short hairs and get away with it! Looks the rich privilege cost him 88 million he has to pay E. Jean Carroll

    • Case 1 (May 2023): A jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll. The jury awarded Carroll $5 million in damages.
    • The idiot and Chief could not stop his birth defect of diarrhea of the mouth…Guess what happened?>>>>>>>

      • Case 2 (January 2024): A separate jury found that Trump's continued defamatory statements against Carroll warranted additional damages, awarding her $83.3 million.

     Here's more from an article....

You did not have to go far. In both the civil and criminal trials of Trump in New York, there was a carnival atmosphere in the street outside the courthouse. It was really not derangement as much as delirium. Democrat New York Attorney General Letitia James had injected lawfare directly into the veins of New Yorkers. Pledging in her campaign to bag Trump (without bothering to name any crime or violation), James was elected based on her recreational rather than legal appeal.

Yet, James could not have succeeded if she had not had a judge willing to ignore reality and cook the books on the fines. She needed a partner in lawfare. She needed Engoron.

Even for some anti-Trump commentators, the judgment was impossible to defend, and some acknowledged that they had never seen any case like this one brought in New York. Judge David Friedman gave Engoron a close-up that would have made Swanson wince. He detailed how the underlying law "has never been used in the way it is being used in this case – namely, to attack successful, private, commercial transactions, negotiated at arm’s length between highly sophisticated parties fully capable of monitoring and defending their own interests."  He accused Engoron of participating in an effort clearly directed by James at "ending with the derailment of President Trump’s political career and the destruction of his real estate business."

Other judges said that Engoron's fine was so off-base and engorged that it was an unconstitutional order under the Eighth Amendment, protecting citizens from "cruel and unusual" punishments. So, Engoron not only inflated the figures but shredded the Constitution in his effort to deliver a blow against Trump.

Trump can now appeal the residual parts of the Engoron decision imposing limits on the Trump family doing business in New York. Some of those limits could be moot by the time of any final judgment. Ironically, if Engoron had shown a modicum of restraint, he might have secured a victory. During the trial in New York, I said that he would have been smart to impose a dollar fine and limited injunctive relief. That, however, required a modicum of judicial restraint and judgment. Instead, Engoron chose to walk down the stairway into infamy. He was off by half a billion dollars, which could put him in the Bernie Madoff class of judges.

They didn't find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Those are legal terms. They found him liable. The burden of proof is different in civil cases.

That's the crazy part, bro. She literally didn't provide any evidence. It was all her word. And her story was full of holes and inconsistencies. The woman couldn't even recall what month/year it happened. She claimed they slipped, unnoticed, into a dressing room when the dressing rooms always remained lock and attended. You weren't getting into a dressing room unless the attendant unlocked it. Just suspend your hate for the man for a minute. Do you really believe Donald Trump just waltzed into a department store by himself and unnoticed? In New York, not one person noticed Donald Trump? Have you ever shopped at a high end department store? Do you believe anyone just walks in without being greeted? Most offer you champagne or sparking water in a champagne flute. Bergdorf definitely did when I was there on two seperate occasions in the early 2000s, which mean they almost certainly did in the mid-90s.

You sure it won’t take off in 14 days ? That is the imaginary timeframe Trump normally uses ? confused

Looking closely at details of court opinion, it's clear the ruling is far from total victory as Trump claims.  Fraud verdict still stands but only excessive financial penalty has been evaded.  Limitations on Trump organization to do business in New York still remain in place.  Ultimately, court of appeals will determine Trump's consequences.

Stu I only swung by here to tell you that you are doing yeoman's work. But I am afraid it is all in vain. These people you are desperately trying to convince are too far gone and too delusional. TDS and their indoctrination have gotten them. In short, they are so brainwashed that even hard evidence that you are providing, which a reasonable person would look at and say you know what I hate the man (God only knows why these people absolutely go batshit when they hear his name) but you have a point. They are incapable of it yesterday, today and in the future. Do yourself a favor and just forget even trying. Let them live in their little dream world where America is turning into Nazi Germany, there are more than two genders, the Dems are the savors, the Republicans are evil, and it will be what it will be my man. Nothing you can do to reason with delusion. I promise you all of your best intentions are going in one ear and out the other. Spend time in forums where there is respect, no lunacy and appreciation for your clear well intended efforts. This forum not one of them. If you still decide to take on this crusade I wish you nothing but the best but my man, this isn't your cross to bear. I would just let it go. BOL!
