Interesting dilemma for republicans with Syria

The majority of the U.S. population wants no part of this conflict. We've learned that we can't change people that are still in the 7th century (Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya). Removed tyrannical leadership and they continue to fight amongst themselves instead of enjoying democracy. They don't think like we do. Everyone has figured this out except Obama, Kerry, et. al (on the dems side), John McCain and few on the Republican side.

I still want to hear why when Saddam gassed and killed 3,200-5,000 people in 1988 why we did nothing until he invaded Kuwait. Anyone have an answer for that? I'm sure the country has degraded morally since 1988 so it's not because we care so much. I must admit that the liberals are the biggest flip-floppers I've ever seen in my life. The cry during Iraq II was that they didn't do anything to us. Did I miss something or has Syria done something to us besides make Obama look like the fool that he is.

I'll be interested if right wingers give him any credit if the Russian solution works. He could claim credit for forcing Syria to turn over the weapons to Russia.

I'm guessing I know the answer.

Are you talking giving Kerry or Putin credit?
I assume Kerry.....hey if his off the cuff comment sparked the Russians to move then I think it's fantastic and would be happy to give him credit. Even if the state department walked back his comment before the Russians acted.

More Obama and some mid-level people at State (I am unable to credit Kerry for anything). They idea would be pretty brilliant. Give Syria a red-line and use that as a basis for intervention. Push the idea even though it is unpopular with the idea of forcing Russia, who does not want US action in Syria, to come up with a solution, which does not involve the US military.
