There is really nothing US can do in the short term to completely restore free access to strait before the war.. Removing mines could take 6 months after war is over. For countries to undermine Iran leverage, oil would have to be transported by alternative routes such as rail and pipeline.

Iran is not going to submit no more than Iraq has or Afghanistan did. Bombing bridges or destroying military capabilities will do nothing to forward whatever this lame agenda is. Russia with their approach to the region had more understanding to what will impact and that is by removing the layer of generational abilities. Russia would try and remove the children and youth who are the next generation of the area and that will carry the hate and angst forward. Roads and militaries can be rebuilt and will be rebuilt or not and alternative paths will be made. If the GOP/TNC really wants to make impact in the region you have to wipe the whole thing out and identify all areas surrounding that share the ideology and wipe that out, you have to remove the religious narratives because anything short of that has zero impact and actually a negative impact.
