Ogles, a member of the House Freedom Caucus, called Trump the only leader capable of reversing what he described as a decade of damage caused by the Biden administration.
The amendment would only apply to presidents whose first two terms were non-consecutive, meaning former presidents like Obama, Bush, and Clinton would still be barred from running again. To pass, it would need a two-thirds vote in both chambers of Congress and ratification by 38 states. Constitutional experts have called it virtually impossible under current political conditions.
Trump himself told Time magazine that he would not support changing the term limit.
