Turnbull said media companies like Murdoch’s (Fox News) thrive by cultivating the fringe.
“Just reflect on the damage that Murdoch’s publications and outlets, particularly
in the US, have done to democracy there,” Turnbull said. “I mean, the Jan. 6th
sacking of the U.S. Capitol was one of the most terrible events in American history.”
Turnbull said Murdoch’s News Corp. operations, notably Fox News, were
“utterly liberated from the truth,”
and had a chilling connection with Trump.
“Murdoch’s media in the U.S. had a symbiotic relationship with Trump.”
"News Corp. has become a political party yet it faces no accountability"
Former Australian leader accuses Rupert Murdoch (Fox News) and Trump
of "Crippling Democracy!"
He also accused Murdoch’s news operations of climate change denialism,
incitement of animosity and violence toward minorities, and
peddling bald-faced lies, including a rigged election which Trump lost badly.
The former PM, who led Australia’s *center-right party* from 2015 to 2018,
was invited to give evidence to the inquiry that was launched after a petition
calling for a probe into Murdoch’s media empire was signed by 500,000 Australians.
Turnbull is the second former prime minister to rip into Murdoch in front of the inquiry.
Former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull testified at a hearing Monday
that right-wing media mogul Rupert Murdoch (of FOX News)
has done more to divide and damage America with the help of Donald Trump
than communist Russian President Vladimir Putin.

One of the most blistering complaints that Turnbull - a moderate conservative -
leveled at Murdoch and his journalist accomplices is that they essentially
carry out propaganda work for terrorists by stoking hate for minorities.
"These voices on the populist right, particularly from Murdoch’s Fox News
are essentially doing the work of the terrorists,” said the ex-prime minister.
They regularly seek to incite animosity towards minorities, particularly Muslims.”
**Much like Phucker Carlson is doing with his racist "replacement" conspiracy theory.
