Again. Entitlement{s} is a four letter word to the people who make laws the citizens are suppose to follow. Social security is the number 1 entitlement that should be means tested There is no courage from either side on what will become a major issue in the not to distant future. The normalcy bias has put the heads of US citizens in the sand. The bias is. Everything will be ok. The US government will take care of you regardless of the situation.

because after robbing social security surplus fund and subsequently all surplusses in the fund rendering it 0 the entire system is now the burden of current payers.

republicans had a coniption against these socialistic measures burdening companies from hiring furthur in such conditions of the great depression offered.
so to pay for the vast expanse in government spending Roosevelt made private owner ship of gold beyond a modest measure against the law stripped gold from the standard of 20 dolllar worth and replaced it with silver hence dramatically allow greater lee way of the dollars printed to a silver certificate.
