I doubt the President has learned hard lesson about gerrymandering as his popularity sinks !…Na not a chance! ! Since day one in taking his position as president he has pounds his chest nightly in defiance and distain to the 81 million in 2020 & 75+ million voters in 2024 who opposed the message of his ticket ! What Texas did was overreach and citizens do not like excessive liberties taken by politicians. That is part of what got the worst president in history elected again and it is what will change the dynamic come mid terms. This outcome was a function of people actually participating in their legislative process and the smart decision by those nasty DEMS to place the issue in the hands of the voters versus slimeball partisan politicians.

Please allow me to add some history and what Trump can do to destroy the unconstitutional new gerrymandering in Virginia. Unbelievably the Blue/Dems goes from a reasonable 6-5 advantage inside Virginia to a 10-1 advantage! Basically telling Virginians that there are 10 Lefties to every Republican! You can not make this up on your best day! We already have 2 Lefties inside Covers performing a 2 man standing ovation! The following is from Chad Mizelle, former chief of staff to the Attorney General mof the United States. It is an op ed he wrote for Fox News. Here you go!
So, what can the president and his allies do? Aside from motivating Virginia residents to oppose this power grab, Trump has another tool he can use to “fight back,” to borrow the supporters’ phrase. He could fight fire with fire and choose another type of re-Districting.
In 1790, Virginia and Maryland each gave five square miles of land to the Federal government to create a district for a new national capital. That Virginia land remained part of the District of Columbia until 1847, when it was retroceded to the commonwealth. The shameful reason for that retrocession was protecting slavery in Virginia when the district abolished it.
This became moot after the Union defeated the ancestors of this current effort to rig elections and resist the elected federal leadership in the Civil War. Other presidents, including William Howard Taft, have considered retrocession unconstitutional and wanted to reclaim the land for the district, but the Supreme Court has never been asked to weigh in.
President Trump could issue an executive order declaring the slavery-motivated retrocession unconstitutional, triggering certain legal action, and allowing the courts to finally weigh in on whether the county of Arlington and the city of Alexandria, in fact, properly belong to the District of Columbia.

I find it funny seeing Trump name mentioned in the same sentence with unconstitutional! From day one Donald Trump's presidency has been a "relentless, direct assault on the rule of law". His administration has often used a "unitary" theory of executive power, arguing for broad, if not near-limitless, presidential authority, particularly in areas like immigration, environmental policy, and the control of federal funds. Weeks after 2020 election claims, Trump suggested that widespread fraud allowed for the "termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.
Once he pardoned people who committed “seditious conspiracy” he violated the 14th section 3. Until congress votes to remove the disqualification, him being president is unconstitutional.……Read it your self!
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.….Hello Donald J Trump! A 150 years ago he may have been hung!….Unconstitutional….Hilarious!

When is it a bad thing to put decisions in the hands of voters? What happened to states rights that your guy pounded the sand on about? So voters can decide when it favors Trump but when it doesnt then he can toss out an illegal exec order grenade huh?
Heads Trump wins, Tails you lose, that is the Trump motto.
Voter refs are commonplace in many states, you cannot go sour grapes because it does not favor your party partisan narrative, this is what voters chose.

Trump started the fight by urging republicans to launch a nationwide gerrymandering blitz. For 50 years, republicans have the political advantage in gerrymandering because they control more states. So democrats are forced to try to even the playing field. Unfair manipulation of electoral map to gain political advantage should be illegal. Ideally, independent bipartisan commissions should be drawing electoral maps instead of partisan state legislatures.

Virginia Circuit Court Judge Jack Hurley ruled Wednesday, one day after the Democrat redistricting referendum passed, that all votes for or against the proposed redistricting amendment were unconstitutional, citing rules that impose certain requirements that the referendum did not meet.

I agree, Trump’s idiotic strategy to cook the books for the midterms is failing because he is staggeringly incompetent. He thought gerrymandering Texas and other red states was the beginning and the end of the story because he’s an idiot who doesn’t understand that actions have consequences. Looks like his duped supporters are now stuck criticizing the consequences of Trump’s reckless, braindead actions.
