Actually WSC, to me it's depressing how society has recently morphed. Personally I wish deliberately misstating facts and/or casting disparaging inuendo and/or outright LIES - effusing BS statements not supported by factual evidence, and not even cast against an individual per se, would be grounds for legal pursuit, akin to screaming (falsely) "FIRE!" in a crowded movie theater. Yes, it is wishful fantasy, however, because of much of what you allude to.... our society is permitted to lie and mislead and misinform.... It's clearly morally WRONG, but nevertheless permitted... Technically such permissiveness has always been that way but rarely elevated as an issue of disgust in and of itself like today.....most people restrained themselves from that putrid behavior, perhaps as a matter of conforming to a christian-like devotion to good morals....to BEING a good, moral person.....
In this country, not near as much anymore... 
And the decline became palpably noticeable in mid-2016, with a slow but steady DOWNWARD trajectory continuing to this day. All of America and perhaps the world as well, is worse off for it.
"FUCK morals! FUCK respect! FUCK fair-play! FUCK truth!" Just say whatever the hell one wants, whenever the hell one wants, and TOWARD whomever one wants!
