House passes Violence Against Women Act

WASHINGTON – The House on Wednesday voted to update and revive
a law aimed at *REDUCING* domestic and sexual violence.

The latest version of the Violence Against Women Act must still be approved
by the Senate. It passed the House by a vote of 244 to 172, and
29 Republicans joined their Democratic colleagues in voting for its passage.

Notably, Marjorie Taylor Greene railed *AGAINST* the Act.

A similar bill the House passed in 2019 was REFUSED to be taken up by
the then-Republican controlled Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell

Biden expected to hit goal

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden said he was poised to meet his goal
of administering 100 million Covid-19 vaccination shots in his first 100 days
on Friday, more than 40 days ahead of schedule!

"I am proud to announce that tomorrow, 58 days into my administration,
we will have met our goal," Biden said Thursday afternoon in a speech
at the White House.

"That's weeks ahead of schedule, even with
the setbacks we faced during the winter storms."

Facing a $1.3 billion lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems after spreading misinformation
about voter fraud, ex-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell is now arguing that
“no reasonable person would conclude” that *HER* claims “were truly statements of fact.”

Apparently, reasonable people are mostly democrats.  She is blaming millions of republicans for believing her lies about stolen election.  Trump supporters attack the capital to stop the steal because they believe the big lie.  To win lawsuit, Dominion needs to prove plaintiff statements are false and knew statements are false.  Powell essentially admits to both.  Request for case dismissal contradicts plaintiff claim of wanting to show evidences.  But no evidences exist of widespread voting fraud.  She has lost every lawsuit challenging the election.

The Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Thursday cut off former President Donald Trump
after he launched into a tirade and tried to falsely claim again that the 2020 election
was stolen from him.

"If you look at the last election, it was disgraceful. It was a third-world election.
It was a disgrace. Legislatures didn't approve much of what happened," Trump said.

The former president went on to attack the Supreme Court, which rejected
three attempts by his allies to invalidate election results in battleground states.

"The Supreme Court didn't have the courage to do what they had to do," Trump said.
Ingraham cut in.
"Speaking as a lawyer," she said, "we're NOT going to relitigate the past."

But Trump returned to his attacks on the Supreme Court.
"There's a lot of Republicans on that Supreme Court," Ingraham responded, then
moved the interview to recent discussions between China and the Biden administration.

In Georgia, civil rights groups have filed lawsuits against new voting laws that would make voting harder.  They allege violation of Voting rights act by discriminating against minorities.  Voters have less time to apply for mail ballots.  Prohibition on mailing ballot applications unless requested.  New ID requirements.  Limits on locations and hours for ballot drop boxes.  Ban on food and water given to voters waiting in line.  Undue intervention of state board over local election officials.  Clearly, democracy deserves more federal protection.

came under criticism Saturday for a tweet attacking Major League Baseball and
several corporations that many found bigoted and insensitive.

Huckabee wrote.

Huckabee's tweet was quickly condemned as racist, as many Asian-Americans
