    "We the people"

Way to do your job you were elected to do and not stand by Americans who voted Trump into office. Shameful!

"Stronger Together" unless their corrupt c&nt doesn't win, then we're going to protest an electoral college landslide and make a foolish statement by boycotting the inauguration ... If you didn't think they were finished as a party, you can be sure now. The country rejected them and instead of seeing the light, regrouping and agreeing to support or fight where necessary, their not going to participate. Trump will remember this. I can't wait until the "sanctuary cities" get defunded and hopefully some "obstruction of justice" charges become a reality. We'll see how committed these liberal morons are...

Were you ashamed of Mitch McConnell when he said that his goal was to make Obama a 1 term President?

Who cares, its their right and decision.

A politician is not required to attend an event like this, it is completely optional.

Trump has a big mouth, he does not need anyone else in attendance, his ego and mouth are large enough on their own.

Of course they boycotted... the left boycotts and protests EVERYTHING! They'll tire out and go back to their safe spaces soon.

Instead of recognizing the desires of the country, the left has continued on their left trajectory.  They keep going, and they'll do a complete U-Turn.

They are clearly a party that has not listened to the "electorate" of this country.

Thank god LA., NY, Chicago , the Northeast, and Dade County don't run this country.  Our founding fathers new better !

Yeah in California... I guess the no shows don't believe in uniting for 1 day. Nothing like imposing your will from a weak position, real effective... They really showed their a$$ again. as if the election cycle wasn't enough. The Boss's speech was perfect today, trashed all of them sitting there. The only problem was they didn't show their faces enough while he was railing it on them...

The country got better today, your irrelevant to the discussion Q, but you go on hating on the man because it wasn't that corrupt c&nt...

Can you imagine how offended the relics in attendance were that this "outsider" got in to our club? How dare the American people not tow the line and watch the American Dream get further away every time another one of us comes in? The nerve of the U.S. Taxpayer... They should've showed the old guards sitting there more while he was trashing all of their legacies. 70,000 factories shuttered in 30 years, that's a ridiculous statistic that I bet none of them ever lifted a finger to save any of them.

They should've been made to sit there holding up a sign of how much deficit they ran up and what do we have to show for it? The Flint Water System? Solyndra? $4T in Iraq and Afghanistan? No accountability is what keeps people with pitchforks off Pennsylvania Ave. The Boss isn't going to be like them because he's not one of them.

    The people of America spoke.

An elected official need not approve of what the people said, but they should respect one of the greatest traditions of our democracy.

Attending the inaugural is a time honored tradition. Regardless of which side of the aisle one is on, it is an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to attend.

Any politician who did not attend simply because they were not happy with how their employers (aka the American public) voted, put their own childish hissy fit in front of what is right, and ahead of how this country works.

Politicians boycotting this inauguration is an embarrassment to the process, and embarrassment to all politicians who have come before them, an embarrassment to our fore fathers, and an embarrassment to those who wrote the constitution.

Although, we should not be surprised ...
When the 'thought-to-be' President calls her opponents supporters names, when her own supporters literally cry, then burn and break things because they did not get their way, should we really expect the 'thought-to-be' Presidents peers on the hill to act in a professional manner???

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who does not recognize that what John Lewis and his cronies did was wrong is simply blinded by bias.

    This is not a liberal/conservative, left/right, democrat/republican issue.
It is an issue of right and wrong.

Right on Hugh! One day of unity, the no-shows act as if they won't attend the inauguration as if it was a coup as well as if no one in their "districts" voted for him at all. Embarrassment - good word and it'll come with a penalties...

And BWS I hope the former first couple is enjoying themselves in Palm Springs...

A day of unity??? Is that some sort of joke?

Trump has earned this disdain, people in general are not apt to blindly be upset at a new president as this is a first in my lifetime and it is deserved.

Trump is a disgusting, angry, hateful bully and you few here want everyone to cut him a break, be nice to him, have a day of unity??

Before Trump is respected and admired he will for sure have to earn it...and that is because he dug himself such a massive hole to begin that will take a very very long time to repair.

Trump did some serious damage to this country with his ego driven hatred, yet it is interesting how across my spectrum I am seeing the groups of people that are so happy and support him versus those who either are concerned or upset. The same biases as mentioned here exist in the two groups and their polar opposites.

I am quite concerned about how an awful guy like Trump can and is dividing this country much more than Obama ever did.

    A day of unity???

    I dont think so...

my favorite thing about when the "safe space" comment comes up.  it seems like it almost always arises when someone is whining about some other group doing something the person doesn't like.

Boo Hoo Wall. I'll assume if the "deplorables" refused to attend the corrupt candidates inauguration the left would've been up in arms about it, we're Stronger Together remember Wall... He'll get more accomplished for AMERICANS in a week than 0 did in 8 years, just watch... The country is about to be "transformed" back into what it was intended to be, not some liberal socialist hellhole.

    Boo hoo?

Is that your retort to my legitimate issues? I guess you are also falling inside the tendencies of the group you belong to because your replies here and this one specifically are very immature and childish.

Did he or did he not offend and keeps offending MANY in his path to this position?

I dont wish well for someone who is a total jerk like Trump is, but as in life a person has the opportunity to change their direction and be a different person if they choose. Notice not ONCE did I reference political party because his issues are not political..he is just a horrible person irregardless of current political party affiliation (notice those words).

Maybe Trump will evolve from this experience, I hope he does because the guy is a really bad person in my view..very little to admire as a PERSON..

It is also quite concerning that his abusive and isolationist approach has many groups outside this country very concerned...and remember that working with other countries benefits everyone so if Trump decides to offend Germany and China and who knows what other country he really is harming the average person directly.

Oh and I've never watched these silly events..being sworn in is not very important to me, I have better things to do than listen to a monotone blowhard spout off his loud mouth.

It would be nice if Trump could actually act somewhat presidential instead of being a blowhard.  He's going to be criticized throughout his presidency like anyone else who becomes president always does.  It's pretty obvious this has gotten to his head.  I work for a woman who's a compulsive liar so I recognize the qualities that accompany it and Trump certainly emulates some of what I've seen.

Yeah, he's my president but he's not really off to a good start in terms of earning respect, which I think all of you know how the saying goes.  He originally argued that Obama wasn't a natural-born citizen and had no right to be president.  Do you really think the public is going to take it easy on him, especially the opposition who didn't vote for him?

He wasn't going to win either Mich... Keep hating Mich, it's like pi$$ing in your pants, your the only one that feels it...

Granted Trump donated money to their campaigns, because that's the way the game is played. Ask Hillary, if you want to get something done and she'll give you an envelope.

He called them out for nothing getting better during any of their regimes... In the last 25 years can we agree that every significant measurable statistic has declined?

For a guy that wraps his arms around false/b.s. polls you sure have a problem grasping GDP statistics for he past 3 decades.
