House will send a clean one document to floor on the for a vote unamrmded.

Mitch McConnell will bring this to the floor a vote but he can not guarantee it's passage.

Trump will sign a clean one document to amend the amount. If it reaches his desk.

It is possible to amend the stimulus by Tuesday to 2000 from 600.

    Passed to the Senate.

To end debate and goto a vote

    60senators must agree.

Rand Paul is a solid no he didn't want working Americans 600 let alone 2000.

Trump republicans and Democrats must vote high enough to over come the 60 40 threshold to move this legislation to the Senate floor for a yea or nay vote. Pending this out come the treasury plans to launch a direct payment on thursday.

Mail to house hold will be by Jan 15th.

Mitch won't go out on a limb for Trump this late in the game & he's already proven he doesn't give a shit for those in need.

I would remind voters not to forget those in Congress that said "NO" to the 2k.

Bet cha that many thousands of Kentuckians who qualified for $600 stimulus checks have had voted for Rand Paul. Ideology makes people illogical, incomprehensible and silly.

What is Mitch McConnell up to? Pres. Trump and Pres.-elect Biden and House all agree on $2000 stimulus check, chances are Mitch keeps acting as the Grim Reaper.

Mitch will be in a difficult position.

He needs Trump jan4th. He needs a win to keep the gavel in Georgia this is going to be a straight coin flip of if goes to the floor for a clean up or down vote.

Sanders said he will filibuster the defense bill to see this bill go to the floor.

Mitch needs the defense bill passed by a 2/3 majority .

This whole deal could completely back fire if he baulks at 2000 stimulus. Sanders and Trump seem to be on the same page.

Perdue and Lofgren need trump to move his supporters to vote. Jan 4th rally. So they are in a very tight spot. If they push back against Trump it is possible they will lose the Georgia election.

Stimulus passed the House with bipartisan support

The House voted overwhelmingly Monday to roughly triple pandemic-related stimulus checks — but it may amount to more of a political maneuver than an effort to ultimately deliver additional relief.

The 275-134 vote came with a 44 Republicans joining nearly all Democrats to back the increase, which was first demanded by President Donald Trump last week as he threatened to kill a massive aid package.

If this is an indication of Republicans backing the President

It looks as though 25 percent of the Republican party backs the President in this endeavor. That is enough to stop debate and bring the bill to the floor.

Senate majority leader has said he will go as far as this.

He bring up a procedure vote to end debate this then sets up a up or down floor vote. 12 senators have to break ranks . Collins Murkowski Romney and Graham seemingly already indicated they will do this. The two senators from Georgia is still not enough they will need at least 6 more willing to back the President .

The latest calls came from Georgia’s two embattled Republican senators — David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler — as they find themselves in the midst of a tough re-election battle that will decide the fate of the chamber next week. Both said they support the $2,000 checks that Trump has sought to advance in recent days, joining Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who endorsed the idea on Monday, and Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), one of its earlier proponents.

If McConnell gave it a stand-alone vote, Democrats would need the support of at least 12 Republicans if all 48 members of their caucus voted to increase the amount of direct assistance.

The runoff in Georgia will determine which party controls the upper chamber. Democrats need to win both seats in order to split the chamber 50-50 and gain the advantage when Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is sworn in and becomes the tie-breaking vote.

McConnell blocks Senate Democrats’ initial attempt to approve $2,000 stimulus checks amid growing pressure on GOP leader to act

McConnell continues to obstruct the passage of the economic aid to millions upon millions of needed Americans. McConnell's job appears simply, cuts the tax for top richest Americans and cuts our Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and blocks the economic aid to middle and low income families. Life is easy, Mitch.

Stimulus check up date processing the covid relief package has begun as checks will begin to enter bank accounts tonight for 600.

The senate will continue to debate the matter . through the weekend if necessary as the new Congress will convene .

    Next week .

The Republican version which must pass the Senate and then be sent to the house as a package with amendments.

If the full Senate considers stand-alone stimulus check legislation, all 48 Democrats and independents who caucus with them would likely vote for it. It would then need support from 12 of the chamber's 52 Republicans. But a bill with the Section 230 and election provisions attached would lose many, if not all, Democrats.

The Treasury Department has said the $600 payments will start going out as soon as this week. If Congress approves the increase to $2,000, it will then be added to the original sum.

As some GOP senators opposed the $900 billion in spending in the latest relief package, they may not support adding $463 billion — the Joint Committee on Taxation's cost estimate for increasing the checks to $2,000 — to the price tag. However, several Republicans such as Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, Josh Hawley of Missouri, and Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue of Georgia have said they will back the $2,000 payments.

Yes and no.  Republicans see everyone as slave labor.  Remember, they're the racists who caused this country to have a civil war.  Don't listen to their lies.  They're the slimy animals who were born from their ancestors and were taught by their families to hate.  So while these people cheat, lie and steal until they're dead, they also see the poor as tools to be used to increase their wealth.  Didn't you hear the stats?  Billionaires are increasing their wealth vastly while the poor are becoming more desperate.  This is how civilizations have always fallen.  The rich keep stealing from the poor and there's no real system of stability.  Economic theories are shams because humans don't adhere to principles.  America absolutely will not be the main superpower in 2100.  We'll be replaced and it's quite possible that the country won't last as well.  People can barely think about tomorrow so they have no idea that we're simply repeating history.

can someone "cliff notes" Trump's recent involvement in this matter? serious question as I don't follow it really closely and it's a bit mad-cap

Trump seems to have been quite capricious about this whole matter in the past.

now he is jumping up and demanding $2000 payments...... would he be doing this if he had been re-elected? or is this "scorched earth"? setting up for 2024 run (saying he backed the bigger payment)

I could be wrong.. but it seems to me that part of the whole "I can't believe we're spending all this covid money in foreign countries" has to be with the fact they don't have time to get all kinds of things passed so they append a bunch of stuff to other bills... ALSO, good way to bury stuff...

$10MM for gender education in Pakistan is definitely "WTF". covid or non-covid. extreme progressivism is harming the Democratic Party

Lindsay Graham on the Pakistani gender money & why he supported it...

"Pakistan is a place I really worry about. Eighty-five countries a woman can't open up a bank account without her husband's signature. She can't inherit property. If you're a young girl in Pakistan life is pretty tough. So we're trying to make life better throughout the world."

Members of Congress don't read these bills but rather have their minions check to make sure the bill contains what lobbyists have demanded for their continued support.

Trump was right about one thing...the system is rigged!

They did necessarily vote against it.

    They simply didn't vote.

McConnell never kept his word and brought it to the floor he obstructed this legislation because he was afraid it would pass.

A day before Georgians head to the polls to decide control of the Senate, President-elect Joe Biden sought to cast the election as a choice between immediate stimulus relief or months of gridlock, promising that victory by Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff would mean $2,000 stimulus checks would be sent out “immediately.

Millions of Americans will not likely to get $2,000 stimulus check if Mitch McConnell remains the Senate majority leader. Dems better win both Senate Georgia runoffs Tuesday, and get rid of the disaster, Grim Reaper. peace
