What happened to pokerstars echeck - please do tell all

Not a b ig player, just want to put some money in and can't.  Please tell me why this is not working?  Is there something bigger that is going on and I have not heard.  Please do tell....

Word is all sites have stopped using it for awhile.
If your waiting on a echeck...cancel it and use another way or you could be waiting over 40 days.
