Just curious as to what you guys might think. Is it a certain pct. of how many times you call per oppurtunities? Is it someone that plays the first 10 hands in a tourney and is forced to go all in on the 10th hand with 6-8 suited?
Hell, I have even been accused of being a "calling station" I guess for this reason. -. Because if I have a considerable amount of more chips than most or all at a table, I may sit and call blinds trying to get lucky on a flop for hours. But it doesn't matter what the chip totals are because I am a firm believer that someone that doesn't play many hands. Is not tight if they force the action once they do get into a pot. Solid, yes, but not tight. Anyway, I digress, what do you guys think when you hear the words, "Calling Station."?

To me, being called a calling station may be a huge compliment if you are not playing decent hands overaggressively, and people are mistaking you for a calling station. But someone who rarely raises or reraises pre-flop or when the odds dictate that you should not slow play, I consider to be a calling station.
(Eg. I have AA and 2 people raise big in front of me, I'd be a fool to not go all-in. Otherwise, the calling station deserves to lose when you let others flop a 2 pair with KQ or a set of nines). And if your AA doesn't hold up with all your chips in pre-flop, so be it. That's just bad luck.

A calling station is a NOT a compliment. To me it's someone who calls almost every hand where they have no business being in. Lots of fish and new players tend to be calling stations hence calling everything.

I guess what I meant to say was people mistakenly perceiving me to be a calling station, when in fact, I like calling a lot of small raises early when the blinds are small and people aren't raising enough to get me to fold.

Its someone who calls at every street not someone who plays every hand. You're calling because you're either on a draw or bottom or middle pair. Gotta raise without the goods to gain some respect.
