Most poker message boards discourage bad beat stories, but this is covers.com, so hey...here ya go:

    4 hands, two max buy-ins - gone.

I had four unbelievable bad beats in a matter of minutes of one another.  Actually, there were 2 at one session, then 2 more the next session.

Both took place at a 1/2 NL game at the Red Rock, Las Vegas, NV.

    Last night:
First hand: Hero (me) KK, villain AA - blank board.  First half of my buy-in, gone.  Second hand minutes later: Flush vs. Flush.  Ace on the board, Hero holds the Q, Villian the K.  Second 1/2 of stack - gone - felted.

    This morning:
First hand: Hero, large boat - Aces full,Villain quad 4s.  First half of stack gone.  Second hand: Boat again, Villain, quad 5s.  No shit.  Second half of stack - gone - felted.

Four hands, holding four large poker hands = two buy-ins gone in a matter of minutes.  Unreal.  Even playing a lot of poker, and I do, one doesn't expect this that often, especially the successive quad beats.  I know you have to count the variance, but damned, that was just discouraging.  Poker gods were not in my corner, and a matter of fact, something in my world must be out of whack with the universe right now.  I have the bankroll to fight again, but for fucks sakes, you know.

the quads are the tough ones, you have a boat but run into quads, how raren is that, then twice back to back? It is nice though when you have the quads and a guy has a full house ( not the nuts of course), because they are gonna go nuts. You can't worry about someone having quads or a straight flush, just too random

The first two, the first night, was against the same guy.  The two quads this morning were held by two different players.

And yeah, mmac, it does sting.  I could just jump right back into the fire, but I'm going to wait a while (probably a week or two).

I know a guy on here named DOG and he would just roll right over these beats, regroup, and kick Johnny Chan, Hellmuth,Negreanu, and Brunsons (cuz theyd all be at his table) ass the rest of the session and win like $100,000 and then talk about what chump change it was and how everyone envies him. So my advice would be to handle it like DOG would. Thats all any of us can try and do

First two hands were bad luck, not bad beats.  You were never ahead in either hand.  I just think bad luck is different then a bad beat.  Bad beat means you played the hand correctly and got screwed on the river.

Doesn't change the fact that you had two pretty crappy days though.  Sick.

Doesn't change the fact that you had two pretty crappy days though.  Sick.

I agree I was never ahead with the first two hands, but I think I played them correctly.  You're probably right, I just used the term "bad beat', in place of "bad day".  The only questionable play was the flush vs flush, but with an Ace on the board and me holding a Q, there was only one card in the deck that could beat me.

I think I played KK correctly as well.

are you supposed to be scared of the quads when the flop comes out with 3 of the same card?

I had AA last weekend, raised big time preflop got 2 callers(one was all in)

flop comes out Qh Qs 9s, I bet real high thinking if he had the queen id let him bury me, he just called and didn't raise...

turn comes out Qd, i check thinking now he could have a Q but I started to put him on another pair of pockets, i figure I'd check, he'd push all in and i'd call and smoke him...but he doesnt bet, he checks....

river comes Js, well now I'm thinking to myself the only hand that beats me is anything with a Q, K's and J's are no good....I push all in hoping he doesnt turn over the Q, he calls...and doesnt have the Q....he has Ks 10s....straight flush....

I guess my story is should I have just pushed all in on the flop and hoped he didnt already have the Q?
