Most poker message boards discourage bad beat stories, but this is covers.com, so hey...here ya go:
4 hands, two max buy-ins - gone.
I had four unbelievable bad beats in a matter of minutes of one another. Actually, there were 2 at one session, then 2 more the next session.
Both took place at a 1/2 NL game at the Red Rock, Las Vegas, NV.
Last night:
First hand: Hero (me) KK, villain AA - blank board. First half of my buy-in, gone. Second hand minutes later: Flush vs. Flush. Ace on the board, Hero holds the Q, Villian the K. Second 1/2 of stack - gone - felted.
This morning:
First hand: Hero, large boat - Aces full,Villain quad 4s. First half of stack gone. Second hand: Boat again, Villain, quad 5s. No shit. Second half of stack - gone - felted.
Four hands, holding four large poker hands = two buy-ins gone in a matter of minutes. Unreal. Even playing a lot of poker, and I do, one doesn't expect this that often, especially the successive quad beats. I know you have to count the variance, but damned, that was just discouraging. Poker gods were not in my corner, and a matter of fact, something in my world must be out of whack with the universe right now. I have the bankroll to fight again, but for fucks sakes, you know.
