went to play some 1=2 NL saturday
good early hands AJ flop is A,J,10 turn is a J...guy with KQ goes all in i happily call

AA  flop A,8,5 2 hearts   turn 8h  i go all in guy calls i win

so im up about 4 then hovered around up 340 all day never up more than 4

anyway, guy in early position raises to 10,,, i have JJ  i just call. flop is J,6,4  guy bets 20 i just call , turn is a K..i have a bad feeling he bets 20 again and for some reason i make it 60..he puts his last 120 in... and i call ...of course he has KK

i mean should i have just called, should i have raised after the flop?
i dont think hes going anywhere and even if i call on the turn he probably shoves in all his $ on the river...i had a bad feeling but would anyone ever fold that hand?

so that took me to +100 on the night...next hand i played J7..flopped 2 pair was all in on the turn and the original raiser folded and i got back 150 bucks..but the set over set...you would never ever fold would you?

    ended up +235

I would have poped it on the flop....without knowing the player I would still guess he either calls or felts at that point...

really nothing you can do in that spot other than shove on the flop and if he is a tight player maybe get the laydown....bad spot to be in

but to answer your question, NO...hard to fold in that spot.. again not knowing the player he could have had 66 44 even AA.....alot of hands you could beat, just so happens he had the 1 hand that beats you....

its one of those hands that at any point he was never folding regardless of your bet.  If the flop came with an ace was your only chance of him folding that hand.  On the flop that is.

Raising on the flop would not have done anything, he calls you for sure. I honestly would not have even raised on the turn, thinking my set of Jacks is and will be the best hand at the end, I would just called and let him bet his A-K AA on the river then I raise, unfortunately he hit the king and not much you couldve done from there.

p.s. You have the nuts on the flop with no realistic draw out there considering he was the preflop raiser. Popping it on the flop wouldve lost you some value

you played it pretty much everyone would play it.  On these hands you want to get paid, so you slow play a little, but even if you pop on the flop, what are the chances a guy with an over paid folds on a rainbow flop?

You did say you had a bad feeling, question is why did you pop it if you felt something?

I was just in Vegas playing in the Grinder tourney at PH...was in the top 12 when I flop the straight (I had K9 big blind, flop QJ10-rainbow), I push all in as I just want the pot and AA calls (slow play sb), turn A, river 10. ...I'm out, 2 spots away from the money.

Sometimes the best preflop hands end up "moosing" you with back door cover, lol.

In most cases there is no way he's folding kings with no ace on the board, and no coordinated flop, even if the king nevered showed up.  I'm going broke everytime on that hand.

You played it like most of us would have. Even if you pushed all in after the flop or pre-flop you would have been called because the guy would of figured you for 2 jacks and he had pocket kings. Thats what I would of thought anyway. I've lost with pocket 9's, 10's, and jacks so often I toss them if there are 2 or more people in the pot when the action is on me. Those hands are a glutton for punishment and seem to always lose.

yeah, a set of Jacks, or any lower set, can't be the nuts. The Jack would have to be the highest card on the board, with no ace, and no straight possibility, which is impossible. Ex J - 2 - 3 7- 8 ( 9,10 is nuts) . Now a set of Queens can be the nuts, 2 - 3 - 7 - 8 -Q, or similar.

I was wrong in my earlier assumption.  You are correct that the lowest pocket pair for a nut set is QQ.

Nj- he was trying to slow play you on your pocket jacks and when he went from betting 20 to betting 120;  that was when  he was telling you he had higher pair than jacks.  You should have folded before the end.  Whenever you are playing at a low stakes table and early postion player raises that person usually has great starting hole cards and you must calculate your outs and the pot odds to justify staying in on the hand.
