Saw a nasty limit hand last night

I play excluslively limit poker. So i understand the stakes aren't as high as no limit, and the runner-runner or 2 outer on the river might be nastier, but in my years of playing limit this is about as disgusting a hand I've seen someone have. the betting was decent throughout so it was a healthy pot.

 

dude next to me has 5c6c.

 

flop comes 5d6h7c. 2 pair.

 

turn 8c. 2 pair and open ended straight flush draw.

 

river Ac. he hits his flush.

 

loses to 10cKc.

 

brutal

That's why I hate having small suited connectors when a flush is on the board, my hand is just too tiny, but by that time, the guy was committed.

flop is 8,9,5  turn is a 9  river was an ace

 

 

agree... what's so nasty about losing to a higher flush?  happens all the time.  Guy was unlucky to lose when flopping 2 pair, but his flush draw on the turn was dead except for the straight flush.

 

Here's a nasty beat for you, I get 9/9 raise to 20 in small blind after a few players call the big blind, I get 4 callers. Flop comes out 2,9,10 rainbow. I push for about 200 knowing im going to get at least 1 caller probably with an over pair, the big blind pushed behind me for about 125 more next 2 fold, its about 325 or so to the last position hes thinking, thinking, thinking calls and doesnt flip his cards me and the position right behind me flip our cards he has a set of 2's hes like very nice hand I put you on 2 pairs, im like dont say nice hand yet its not over. Turn comes its a 6 river comes its a 7 the kid who didnt turn over his cards looks looks and screams out f*&k yea and flips over pocket 8's the kid hit an inside straight draw on the river by catching runner runner. Possibly 1 of the worst beats of my life!

i hate assholes that dont turn their cards over on an all in until they beat you.
