And if so, how have you been depositing? Visa Gift Cards are a no go, and I'm wondering if there is any alternative to Western Union.

I do.  And check out NUcharge.  You basically have to buy a phone card and then they give you an account number/password that you enter in order to deposit (according to a buddy of mine....I haven't used it yet, but he says it works).
