reoccuring cards

i posted this at the end of a dead thread and only got 1 response (thx spoon) so i thought i'd start a new thread to see what people think.

 

say you're out of the hand and there is 8 8 A on the board, and a 8 comes on the turn or river.  The very next hand, you are dealt pocket 8's.  There are a few raises in front of you.  Do you A)play the hand hoping the trend of 8's will continue, B)fold because you think there is a small chance another 8 will come on the board after the last hand, C)play the hand with no bias.  Same for flush draws, a solid spade board the hand before, next hand you are dealt pocket spades.

jb, my answer is without a doubt C. 

 

For one, cards are hardly ever played with one deck, so it would be coincidence if you were to get pocket 8s on the next hand, not poor shuffling. 

 

I do however believe that cards tend to re-appear in loose patterns.  I was playing last weekend and within a matter of 90 mins or so, I saw two boats with 7's over Queens and one hand with two pair (Qs and 7s)...same deck all three times.....I do not believe that is a matter of complete coincidence.

just play it the way you would if it was your 1st hand at the table

I was at a table Friday afternoon and the kid in seat 3 had quad 4's...(one 4 in his hand and three on board) the very next hand the guy in seat 2 hit quad 4's (two in his hand and two on board) 

 

I did ask for a new setup
