Been playing a TON of live poker lately at the Argosy Casino in Indiana. The 1-3 game there is SO week it's unreal. Been crushing it for at least 300 a day, most days leaving up +500. I'm gonna keep a running account of the days if anyone's interested...
The one thing that I keep telling myself that has been the difference in my live game and poker game in general is this: I have never lost a pot or a hand that wasn't my fault. I can look at every hand that I lose and see exactly where I could have done something different and would have taken the hand down. Just realizing that had I raised more, had I smooth called then checkraised the next street, had I done something different that would have been a better play I wouldn't have lost. Not the cards fault, not the other players fault, but my own. Keeps me from tilting and has me improving my game every hand.
Short bad beat - I haven't taken one this bad in a long, long time...
Dealt 99. I raise to 17 pre. 4 callers. Flop 10 10 9. I'm last to act and make it 75. One caller. Turn Q. He checks I bet 140. He calls. 10. He had AQ and totally fucked my flopped boat. He had checked the river so I checked behind him realizing how shitty that was and knew I was beat.
