i went to one of the sites that grades your online play, tells you how much you're up or down ect ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i play 25 cent 6 max no limit hold'em for the most part,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i was looking at my grades as they compare my stats to the top 10 players in my limit,,, this is how i was graded ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

preflop c+ , it said i needed to tighten up a bit.

preflop aggression, F ,,,, it said to be much more aggressive,,,,,,,, so the question is, what does this mean? ,,,, it says preflop i need to tighten up a bit so i'm assuming that when i do enter a pot i should not call so much but instead raise more or if i'm first in the pot to raise more instead of limping, is this correct? ,, is this the way you see it? ,,,,,, also maybe when i do raise which is usually 3 blinds, maybe i need to raise 4 blinds instead ,,,,,,,,,,,, whats your opinion of how i can get a much better preflop aggression grade? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

flop aggression grade was C+, it said be more aggressive here also ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

turn aggression was graded B ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

river aggression was graded B+ ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

showdown frequency was graded C+ ,, it says to fold more,,, so i'm assuming if i'm more aggressive preflop and on the flop that i will get opponents to fold more and i wont reach showdown???? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, lets here some comments on preflop aggressiveness from electric and some of you others that do ok online! ,,, thanks.

    Never limp.

Pre-flop, 6-max is raise or fold.

Only change one element of your game at a time. So, get the pre-flop stuff straight before moving on...

And you ask why there isn't more discussion in the poker forum......you don't do much to foster open discussion.

And you ask why there isn't more discussion in the poker forum......you don't do much to foster open discussion.

    I would agree with you about this normally 100% but . . . . .

this tool is another rigtard, just wait, he'll start blaming the site before this thread is out. Thats why I said what I said

He didn't blame anything or anybody in this post......he simply asked for some constructive criticism in order to improve his play. A question like this is exactly what should happen in this forum.

Even if he does believe online is rigged, it wasn't mentioned or even implied in his post....

I really don't care but the OP tried to start a constructive discussion that was effectively eliminated by post 2.

and if the conversation turns to online being rigged then by all means rip away........but until then some honest, constructive feedback might be a way to welcome more conversation in the forum.

Why would anyone post in here? It isn't like anybody is warmly received....

Well now you know how I feel when I play online for a living and have these clowns call me liars, cheats, and say I work for the site. All the while they play shitty shitty poker but think theyre awesome cuz they watch WSOP on ESPN.

This clown is one of those guys so sorry Im not gonna give him an honest response when I know where the subject is going with him. Just cuz you wanna entertain this morons questions when he ultimately will end up blaming someone else for his losses doesnt mean I need to. If this was a new poster Id answer his questions but Ive seen this guy's act before.

So before you get all pissy about my attitude read some of the garbage this "tool" has spouted in the past and tell me if he deserves an honest reply.

For the record I absolutely go overboard on these guys. Theres a list of about 10 of them that will get blasted every time I see them until they either go away or admit they make shit up to justify their losses. FOOLISH TOOL is on that list.

If you dont like what I say then dont read the thread again or dont reply cuz if youre gonna defend the rigtards then you can go get fucked too for all I care

Very nice articulation.  As long as Electric speaks in absolutes, there will rarely be any logical poker discussion.  Claiming something is absolutely rigged or not rigged can only mean that person is a programmer for the site, which I don't think anyone here is.

Ok I'll take a stab guys. Ive never been to this site youre talking about but I'll tell you what I think it means from what youve said

Preflop youre probably, like u said, just calling too much. Like in early position you'll call with like 68 sooted, which regardless of if thats good or bad, you probably make it worse by when it gets raised behind you then you call the raise too so youre in for a few blinds out of position with hands like 6 8 sooted that unless you flop something youre just check-folding the flop

Also, maybe youre not reraising with your monsters enough preflop, AA, KK, QQ, AK. Maybe youre just smoothcalling QQ and AK instead or reraising

If it says you need to tighten up then youre definitely playing too many hands, hands you should be mucking. I believe you said 6max so you gotta play more hands there than 9man obv but u dont have to play everythng lol.

Like UTG i think youre supposed to fold all but like top 10%, 15%  of your hands TOPS i believe, even 10 may be too much UTG but its 6max so who knows. But if you find yourself playing like 50% of your hands UTG then youre playing WAYYYY too loose

    6max

    UTG - Tight as fuck
UTG+1 - pretty tight but slightly, slightly, looser than UTG
Cutoff - can open it up signifigantly
Button - if noone is in can play anything if ur descent postflop
SB and BB just depends what happened in front of you

Flop they said be more aggressive. Maybe when you have AQ and flop an ace and a guy bets you just smoothcall instead of rasisng, shit like that MAYBE, I dont knowi its kinda vague

SHowdown it says to fold more. Possible when you get to the river you call the half pot size bet with any piece cuz of the supposed pot odds that arent even really there. Or possibly youre just too loose the whole way and end up in WAY too many showdoesn therfore are losing a lot of them

Sorry for the mistypes and stuff. I type in a hurry and dont proofread

Nice analysis, Electric.  I think for the most part, "small ball" is a joke.  Negreanu is in a tailspin due to something that was so good to him at one time.  If someone keeps raising aggressively pre-flop, I tighten up condiderably.  Then when I have a premium pocket hand, I just go way over them.  If I lose, so be it, but it will usually slow down their aggression considerably if you show you are not afraid to occasionally push back.

And UTG, the tricky part is not how to play crap cards.  It is how to get maximum money in the middle with your AA or KK PRE-FLOP.  Smaller suited connectors (teaser hands) will sometimes win you a big pot, but eventually they will bankrupt you as your flush is no good or your top 2-pair is up against a set.
