    that's his game...

Swing from the treetops, fall into a volcano mouth and come shooting out like a flaming phoenix...

The problem with Dwan on TV is that most poker novices attempt to emulate him.

This is disastrous considering none of these newbies have the poker world-wide reputation of playing virtually any hand at any time in any position (much like when gus hansen was coming up)...

At the end of the day, the newbie leaves the table with nothing as anyone with any experience catches on pretty quickly they are playing any and all hands with aggression on all streets.

When you have 100K to 500K in front of you, TV pros may not be willing to pay 50K to 100K for a river card against the best internet player on the planet.

Against a newbie, a $200 bluff shove on the river is called quicker than you can sneeze with only   as a lesson learned.

It's easy to catch cards when your involved in virtually every hand.

The thing I like about this whole new TV poker era. They watch guys like Dwan like what was mentioned a few posts ago. Then think they can go to the casinos and play 1/2 no limit holdem like they saw on TV.

My favorite is Friday nights in Tunica when all the chasers come to go all in. About 6pm the old guys start thinning out and the gamblers are there till after midnight

My advice is when the asians get in a hand, You better have something good or your going down

I wonder if Durrrr has ever stabbed anyone with that nose of his. He looks like he'd rather be sucking dick than playing poker.

I like the various late night poker shows (PAD, Big Game) but what I am getting tired of is all the side-bet garbage that nobody but them truly gives a shit about.  Doesn't make for good TV to me, the show is poker, not degen side betting on dumb things.  They got enough cash riding on the hands to keep it interesting on its own.

I like it myself. The side bets (which get as high as 50K per colored flop...outside of the potential 500K in front of them which they can shove in any given hand) give you a small window into their degenerate gambling nature...which exceeds anything on this message board given the bankrolls involved and amount of time spent at honing their craft.

Seriously, I believe that at least the side betting is a farce and they tear up the sheet afterwards. Just a piblic display to get novices to believe they too can get rich enough to throw thousands around like pocket change. After the game they laugh about all the recruits they pick up on on thier sites and gut.
