my poker year is done

was kinda up and down then lost a good amount in july and took off all of august ...since i have been going back since september , i just played 4-8.  won a whopping grand total of 693 bucks. the most i was up was 1020 but the last couple of wweks have been crap..this week i lost $15 after winning 50 monday 85 wednesday and then dumping 150 today.

i have decided that 2006 is in the books. i gotta re asses why i play low limit with the idiots (maybe im an idiot and i should be at that level) or if i should take a shot at a higher game. i play tight and aggressive like i should but too many bad beats from the idiots . will i be facing idiots with more $ or normal players who know when to fold hands (fold before they run me down )?

 

 

You could chalk up 98% of my poker career to 5/10 Limit and I will attest that you can get brutal beats there, but over the long haul you can destroy people. 

 

 

you should never move up limits just because you think there will be less beats, if you can't beat lower limits then you can't beat higher limits, its that simple. Once you destroy the lower limits consistently i wouldn't move up unless you have the bankroll to do so.

last year when i had some more $ to play around with i played 10-20 and was pummeling the shit out of people. id go and pick up 500-600 a couple of times a week. in the higher game you can make some moves and do different things with hands. you can represent hands and good hands seemed to hold up way more often. so i disagree with that statement . i agree that if you suck and always lose at low limits (which i do not, i win at the 4-8 game) you shouldnt move up.

 

its seems like you are implying that i can't beat lower limits, but i do win at them so that is not the case

 

also in the higher game its not 7 people to every flop.

I lied... went tuesday played well couldnt win anything big and managed to lose with all my good hands...2 pair to a set..straight to a river flush...one of those days lost $100

 

went back wednesday because it was the 27th and i won 300+ on oct 27 and nov 27th so i took a shot on dec 27th..played well was up 185 left up 120.  f'd up a hand or 2 late and decided it was time to go

 

 

 

 

 

so play every 27th of each month and your good as gold.  To those who think you can destroy a low limit game on a consistant basis think again.  A 2-4 3-6 and 4-8 table is all luck.  People are playing with all kinds of crap and like devil said 7 to a flop and good chance AA will get cracked by 2 pair, straight , or a flush.  Especially if your a tight player and only play premium hands it will be very difficult to make money.

 

In the 5-10 game donkeys still exist  and even 10-20 but there are fewer of them.  Playing 4 to the flop is alot easier to judge what your up against, and at least have a chance to bluff.  7 to a flop means at least 2 people have a draw of some sort and 4 have a pair, unless you flop the nuts chances of winning are very low with everyone calling.  Sure you win a few hands but its more luck than anything else.  Skill is out the window.

1-2 NL game is fulled with suckers and you can apply the kill. Limit is hard to play low limit.
