lost $100 + on 1 hand in a 4-8 game

was playing a while was getting ready to go , up 50 bucks but was having fun getting some hands ,missing a lot of flops

 

anyway im SB  8,8

 

its raised then reraised i call then reraised and capped so what the hell im in

 

flop 9-8-6     2 clubs  ... i bet , raised reraised i resraise it gets capped

 

turn is the 9 of clubs     woo hoo  full house i bet ,raised reraised i reraise it gets capped

 

river is an A   i bet gets raised reraised rerased,,to save time i cap it...im not folding a full house

 

i finished in 3rd

 

1 guy turns over AA

another guy  9,8

and some othe rdouche had a club flush

 

i was done for the day down 70 bucks

nothing you can do. you had the best hand on the flop for whatever that's worth. None of these guys was going anywhere, although the "douche" with the flush may have been able to figure out his flush was no good. and typically aces isn't gonna fold a big pot like that on the turn.

yeah that hand annoyed me... a few hands earlier i had KK lost to a set of 8's  . i was "in position" and just called the guy down on turn and river...had a bad feeling when he just kept betting

a lot of hands like this you have to get lucky, dodge bullets, but if you play good on the low limits you can win consistently, because if it's "only" 3-6 or 4-8, then guys will just call you down with draws and low pairs and shit like that, and when you hit a nice hand, you will get paid off

i really only made 1 big hand all day ..i made QQ into a full house and there were a bunch of players pot was 180

 

 

but then later i have QQ and i raise and buy some f'n annoying miracle only 1 caller

 

i made quads and only the 1 guy calling me til the end

 

 

shit man these hands you love to have everyone see the flop. it's ironic sometimes you get nice hands like A-K, A-Q, everyone sees the flop, and you get nothing. Then you flop a set, and everyone folds, or there is one caller, and he'll probably call you down to see what you have, but if there are 3 or 4 callers on the river then you've got a huge pot.

No way your folding a set of 8's after the flop. Maybe push and prey after the flop- even if Aces calls and u lose- what are u supposed to do? Fold a set of 8's? Anytime it's at least 85%-15% in your favor- just take a shot man. Although, it seems like it was pot limit or fixed limit or something by the way you were describing it.

that sucks, but look on the bright side.  it wasn't a n/l hand

and he finished 2nd anyway, so i woulda f*ckin lost anyway

yeah what can u do, that's poker, i wouldn't lose any sleep over it

those suited connectors, and even unsuited, can really fuck some people up. Or if you have a nice hand like Q J suited, so many things that can happen with that hand, compare that with A 6 off, A9 off, shit like that, most people will play those hands, and you have remote flush and straight draws, give me a suited connector with 1 gap any time over pocket jacks.
