However, both him and Black were playing excellent poker until they both went all-in on slightly above average heads up hands (A6 off vs KJ off). And the blinds were still a reasonable 1K/2K with each player having over 50 K in chips.
It seems that the pressure finally gets to people who have been playing well for so long to just finally end the misery and stress. Saw it on TV with Dennis Phillips who was playing well in the WSOP, only to have a couple of melt downs to go bust in no time.

I went through the final table hand by hand and Phillips was certainly one of the LEAST talented people there. He wasn't going to out-play anyone to be honest. He had a tight image and made a couple of moves pre-flop and ran into some hands. He could have played better, but you're going to have to take some chances when you're not close to the best player at the table.
