but I have heard some horrible horror stories about guys with trips, straights, and flushes losing on the river to a striaght flush, royal flush and almost impossible hands which makes me second guess the legitamacy of these sites. How do we now there not rigged? I mean they have to make money somehow if they are spending millions on advertising...
Anyhow if I was to play poker which site would you say is the most reputbale for US citizens, and sites that you yourself have withdrawled from and are in the positives
thanks guys, and good look with your bets and gambles!

there are 4 big online poker rooms that still accept US players that i have had experience. They are all reputable and the stories you hear i am sure are just a result of the nature of the game, people see so many more hands online because of the speed of play that it seems like there are more bad beats however there are just as many beats live. The sites themselves don't really stand to gain from having crooked rng. That being said here are 4 sites. If this is ur first venture into the online poker world i would reccomend taking advantage of both sign up bonuses and rakeback, you can google for rakeback or you can look under website promotions and find my post there if you wanna help out a fellow covers member.
1. Full tilt (offers 600 match sign up bonus and 27% rakeback)
2. Ultimate Bet (offers 650 match sign up bonus and 30% rakeback)
3. Bodog (offers 10% unlimited bonus and 25% rakeback)
4. Poker Stars (offers a 150 sign up bonus)
hope this helped.

I played on poker stars last week made about $300. The site was very user friendly and the bad beats were very low compared to other sites I have played on. I have played on about 10 sites 5 of them for real money. I would play poker stars if I were you.

i would say it depends on what you want to play, if you perfer big tournies then yes ps is for you, if you want to play s&g then yes ps is for you. I would say there are softer cash games out there. UB and ftp are both pretty soft for low limit cash games. Bodog has been said to be the softest because of the people who blow their sports wager winnings on the felt and i would have to agree however their software leaves a lot to be desired and you can only open 3 tables at once which i don't like. I think FTP is on the rise and will soon be as big as stars. If for nothing else you can download their software and watch some big name pros slug it out on the high stakes tables.

I used to play Party poker but I don't understand how U.S. players can still play anywhere online because of the anti-gambling law passed in Oct. How do you guys deposit $$$ in your accounts cause all of those kinds of sites don't work too.

throw- You my friend are very misinformed. Hopefully i can clear things up for you. First off there is no ban on Online poker for US residents. The law that was passed was not specific in saying poker was against the law it did mention sports wagering and online casinos. Also Party poker and several others were not shut down by the US govt but rather decided to hightail it out of the US market by choice after the law was banned several other sites have decided to stick it out. Full tilt and Poker stars have both issued statements saying that they did not feel the legislation in anyway made an impact on their business with US customers. Even if these sites were breaking the law as an individual you would not be held responsible, however the banks that allow transfers to the "gambling" websites are. Most banks have stopped allowing you to use debit cards for such transactions however if you have a Neteller Account or something simular you can use it as a third party. Put money from bank into neteller (which is just another offshore bank) and then from there into or out of the sites. Hope this helped any further questions i would be glad to answer.
