    1.  I like to see if you oppenents are looking at my chips when I'm pretending to make the call.  I try to glance at them when I'm cuttin out my chips with my head down so they can't see that I'm looking at them.  If they look at my chips then it's not a good sign to call.

    2.  I watch to see long they look at the board espescially if there is action before the river.  If the board changes, they would look at it(3-5 seconds) to determine what hands would beat them.  If they look at it real quick and bet, Usually I think they are bluffing.

I play a lot both online and live and I still like to use betting patterns or try to discern what somebody is trying to accomplish with a bet and some bets just don't make any sense......I've never been so great with the physical tells. I know people out there who swear by them but it doesn't work for me. I think betting patterns are more reliable.........of course as usual it depends on the player. Re-popping c-bets is a good way to find out where you're at....re-raising a button raise is fun.....

Typically when playing at the lower limits I don't worry much about sniffing out bluffs (unless they are VERY obvious). It's much easier to make a nice profit just playing it very, very straightforward. Picking off bluffs is fun and rewarding.....but one or two mistakes can require a lot of hard work to recover.

i also look at betting patterns but also i like to see if they are breathing heavy or acting out of the ordinary, like if they usually talk alot and all of a sudden are quiet.

Also sometimes people will get their cards ready to be thrown away then last minute decide to play (with a bad hand, you also have to make sure they dont know you are watching them or else it could back fire), or if they reach for chips to raise but then just call.

you have the 2nd one backwards, if they look at them longer they are more likely to have missed, and if they only glance they know they got it. With the exception of maybe flopping a st8 and they are not very quick at knowing the staight cards

and the absolute biggest tell in poker is if they glance down at their chips right after the flop, this tell is in mike caro's book, which is a great book btw, and it has made me a lot of money. It is a subconscious move that is hard to avoid. apparently it is to make sure their chips are still there, and that they are about to bet em.

some guys will bet these 3 hands the same way, top pair, straight draw or flush draw. guys will do this without regard for position in limit because they don't even know what position is. But on the river, if the 2 draws didn't come , then you have a 67% chance of winning by calling, as 1/3 of the time he may have top pair. this would be heads up on the river of course, where you have a middle pair. In my experience this is a good way to pick off bluffs. Many people also have specific tells which may show their strength.

You're very right to make sure they don't know you're paying attention. If you have a very strong hand in the BB you act like you're ready to muck it.......then act like you decided to play since you forgot you were the big blind. It's beautiful......if your monster hand flops, nobody suspects you have it......and if bricks hit the flop you bet it and take it down with your trash. A friend of mine loved pulling that stunt and it was shocking how well it worked. One of the reasons I don't trust the physical tells.

I don't like to wear sunglasses, but I think they're good to see players' reactions after the flop. Experienced players, if the hit the flop, and they know you are watching them, will act pissed, and then bet or raise when it comes to them. Some guys, you can see they have QQ when an ace hits the flop, and they're like, WTF? Experienced guys know that players are gonna watch them if they raise so they can give off false tells.

BTW, mike caro's book is very good, the best advice I got is when the flop comes, if a guy sees the flop and looks away real quick, then he hit his hand...if he stares at it for a couple of seconds, he's figuring out how many outs he has.

I never liked to look too much into a person's hands though, if its shaking, it could because he's nervous about a bluff or because he's excired about a huge hand. Or it could be like me where the damn casinos are so cold that I am freezing to death everytime I'm out there and my shaking as nothing to do with the actual hand.

You got that right.........those places are oftentimes cold as ice......I've been shivering in them at times....literally. A guy told me once he folded because he knew I had a big hand because my hands were shaking.......I laughed and turned over my VERY modest holding and told him my hands were shaking because it was so freaking cold.
