Home Poker Game

where's the best place to get a poker table and poker chips that nobody is going to have. i'm going to be taking small rake so i want a table with a drop box and a chip tray.....i'm also thinking about gettin the shuffle tech auto shuffler. and i wouldn't mind any tips on running a home game. thanks!

GL finding people to come to a home game with rake. Even a small one. I tried to do that at my game and everyone told me to go fuck myself, LOL and I dont blame em!!!!

I concur.  The only thing the rake assures is that everyone that stays there for over 8 hours will be broke before you kick them out.  Casino raked games are enough of a scam.  Home raked games are even worse.  So yes, I would tell you to F off also if you asked me to play. 

you have to at least have a dealer, you can't have a rake and make everyone deal. 

be careful if you have repeat games, that someone doesn't counterfeit your chips. I was reading this book where this guy was a mechanic and he also pulled all kinds of scams. He had some copies of chips made for a home game, about 5K worth, he bought in for some real chips, and gradually kept pulling some of the fake chips out of his pocket to add to his stack(the opposite of "going south"). If a player wanted to buy chips he said, "hey, I'll sell you some of mine, I'm leaving soon...". He cashed out after a while, and the guys running the game had to be short on cashing everyone out, and they must have been scratching their heads saying WTF??

i started a cheap looking poker social site bluecollarpoker and i am going to start free rolls again. I gained alot of friends by doing it. I mean started couple months ago and there are already 2100 people signed up. We have a FREE roll a week. but I am going to do more soon as i am going to put my own little poker room on it. But from that site I have a buddy that has a poker night at his house once a month and we get about 40 people not huge but fun. 

By the way we do it tourney style where you have a buy in of say 100.00 with one rebuy. And we give the top five people cash. it is fun. cant wait for the next one. if you live in  southern cali your more than welcome to come. 

You guys are cheap.  What's the issue of playing rake if you get everything you get at the casino?  Most of the times these home games are dead money

Raked home game???  Sounds good for you.  Free hot dogs and drinks and ESPN on the wall and a full table of guys willing to pay a rake...good luck, but where I am from this would fly as well as a watered down sack of shit.
