I can't excuse his behavior and he's way over the top at times, but when he went off about how, "that guy from Northern Europe calls my raise with 8-5" (or whatever it was), I just about fell of my couch laughing. He's such the master of de-humanizing people at the table....even people who have decent reputations. I don't agree with it, but it sure is entertaining.
It was also fantastic when he said, "you probably didn't think I could play 10-Q that well".....and low and behold, his opponent's 10-Q beats Phil's set. You can't make it up.

I could not believe that guy was just sitting there without saying anything...i would have called him out in the parking lot and bitch-slap that little whiny box.....so brave in front of the cameras, until someone really gets up and slaps him - i bet he would cry like a little girl

By the way, did anyone notice when Phil was playing that hand, he said, "I'm gonna do something, but this hand wasn't too kind to me yesterday....we'll see what it does for me today." Something like that. Anyway, if you're at the table, aren't you pretty sure that he's got a middle pair. What kind of hand does Phil say that about??? It has to be a vulnerable hand and would he really say something like that about a hand like 10-J or K-Q or something?
Anyway, if I'm trying to defend a call there with a pretty marginal hand, don't you say, "listen, Phil, it was obvious you weren't that excited about your hand cuz you can't keep your damn mouth shut.....and WTF is wrong with calling with two overcards which I was pretty sure I had after you all but called your hand marginal."
I suppose that he may not want to let Phil know he was on to him, but did you guys notice that? Unless Phil is a master actor, I was screaming at the TV saying what a tell that his little conversation with himself was (about how the same hand got him into trouble the day before).
Anyone else notice that?

It's pretty solid. I've actually met Phil before....talked to him briefly at a book signing. He's a COMPLETE NERD. Sure can play tournament poker, but the sense of humor of a 5 year old from my experience. hellmuth is entertaining that is for sure, the sad thing is there is a lot of merit in what he says, but no one takes him seriously cuz he acts like such a jagoff.
