But then again here comes the excuses. So right after detailing his terrible money management + why he loses he all of a sudden realizes that he's "looking in the mirror" in regards to his poor poker ewsults and makes a foolish, false, excuse making claim.

It is good to hear that it is possible because I do enjoy playing it, so I just need to concentrate on playing better poker. When online I tend to think everyone is bluffing and call hands that I shouldn't. That is something I have to work on.

My whole problem is getting time to play as much as Id like/need to. I have a 3yr old kid that takes up a lot of my time so I find myself only with like 3 nites/week to play which is an issue.
But I know you didnt mean personal problems but playing problems. The biggest problems/mistakes I see people making online is bluffing, wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much of it. 99% of the people playing/talking in this forum are gonna be playing the meduim-microstakes games (basically $30 and under buy-in for tourneys and .50c/$1 blinds for cash). The bottom line is, in these games all you have to do to beat them is play solid tight-aggressive pretty much ABC poker and you'll beat these games. The players at this level simply are too loose and too shitty as a whole to make bluffing profitable, yet all I see is guys just trying to take down EVERY FUCKING pot with nothing for no apparent reason other than "I heard you gotta be aggro." People also dont like to hear this cuz it means you gotta play "boring." Well guess what, boring wins and "exciting" loses so you make the choice. That is the #1 mistake I see everyone making at these games. You'll get paid off EVERY time you hit a hand basically so why go start bluffing loose players who will call you down with any piece??
As you move up and it gets harder to get paid off on your good hands then you have to "mix it up" a little to stay ahead. But as long as youre consistently getting paid off with your good hands bluffing just isnt profitable.
Now Im not necessarily saying "OMG just dont ever bluff" but just be careful. In other words, dont 3-barrell J5 offsuit and lose half your stack just cuz "you thought he was weak." Take a stab here and there and shut down if you meet resistance. Like I said, you may feel like a box having to back down in some pots but thats how you win. You dont HAVE to win every pot youre in. Yet some feel you do. I know a lot of this advice sounds "weak tight" and some of it is but Ijust feel more players would win more, sooner, if they started on the weak-tight end of the spectrum instead of the loose-aggro one.
You simply do not need to be doing much more than playing rock solid tight poker to beat these levels IMO
At Pokerfan finished 2nd a few times and built 90 bucks into 500 bucks but lost 350 of it been on a down swing of late.

a good win % when capping is somewhere around 60%, correct? the same is true when playing poker. i'm sure you're aware that aces (or kings like you referred to) aren't a guaranteed win. it's all about ABC poker, position and volume. also, if you aren't regularly working on your game, you are without a doubt a losing player. it's like saying you could pick up a golf club after having not played for x amount of time and immediately dominate your peers - i.e. tiger. there are millions of examples that could be used. you have to crawl before you walk.
use some logic, dude. all of congruency's points are absolutely valid. and this is coming from a marginally winning player who hardly works on his game.
