does a casino have to be open for so long before they can hold a wpt event?

was at mountaineer on saturday had the west virginia derby on espn, a ton of ppl there.  this got me thinking.  they have a beautiful poker room and a ton of open space in which they could set up extra tables.  the problem is that no one seems to know what the hell they are doing at all, dealers and floorpersons especially.  so spacewise, they are more then capable of holding a wpt event, however i doubt that the floorpeople or dealers could handle something so big.  so does anyone know if a casino has to pass tests, or have some kind of time restriction before they can be on the wpt?

good question clown....i have no idea really. im sure there are a lot of politics involved?

probably not, because some of the newer big Vegas Casinos have had some big WPT events. The floor people should probably know what they are doing though.

I do not think so because a casino such as The Borgata where I live by got a WPT event quickly, and they have not been open for long at all, it must be a politics issue

the answer is no....they just have to meet certain standards set by the WPT....and fit into their schedule

 

 

clown the Poker room means nothing....do they have a nice ballroom or meeting center at Mountaineer?

 

 

If not then you can forget about them ever getting a WPT event

 

 

They need a place for

 

a) adding many more tables for the tournaments (even the prelim events)

 

b) a location to set up the stage for the final table
