Did I play this hand wrong?

Ok, here are the reasons I think I may have played this wrong even if I was ahead the whole time until the river. I was dealt AA in early position.

1) I'm up against the chip leader
2) He could've easily flopped a straight, set or two pair on this flop.

I seriously considered playing it very cautiously and possibly folding if I bet half the pot or so after the flop and got reraised. But I opted to play it aggressively and got burned on the river. I'll chalk this up to a learning experience and I'm very interested to know what your take is on it.
