Did I play this hand completely wrong?

1/3 NL.  I have about $200 in front of me.

 

I have Ac,Ad.  Player to act before me bets $13.  I raise to $36.  Table folds back around to original bettor who calls.

 

Flop comes 3c, 5c, 9d

 

Opponent checks.  I bet $75.  Opponent calls.

 

Turn comes Qc.  Opponent puts me all-in.  I call. 

 

He turns over 10c, Jc. 

 

River comes 5s.

 

Was that a really bad call?  I had the nut club draw, and the over pair, but for him to put me all-in he either had the flush or a set.  I've been telling myself it wasn't a super terrible call, but I really need my covers brothers to berate me and let me know how much of a donk I am.

I'm guessing this was at the Argosy? The games there are so soft it's unbeliveable.

 

As far as the hand goes when villian pushed you were obviously behind. You needed to be getting about 4.5 to 1 to make the call and you weren't. So yes it was a bad call. i wouldve took my last $89 to the bar.

 

I actually prefer the room at Grand Victoria, but you can never ever ever get a fucking game there, especially since that 220k bad beat got hit a few weeks ago. Friday and Saturday you MIGHT get a 1/3 NL game, but more often than not you have a 5/10 limit.

 

Onto the hand...like I said, I knew it was a bad call, I just wanted someone to berate me.

nothing you can really do, after the flop you can't get rid of the guy, most guys will call with flush draws, they don't care about odds and shit like that. Maybe you could have went all in before the flop, maybe he calls anyway, who knows, but 10 - J suited is the type of hand, that if I fold pre flop, it always hits.

I think I would have put him all in after the flop once he checked figuring he had mid pocket pair. I don't slow play high pocket pairs anymore because you can get chased down, like you did.

 

With that said I would have made the call because you had $111 of your $200 in the pot.

Hopefully you had more cash in your pocket after this hand.

i have no idea abut his table image....and how tight/loose this guy was playing.....but i think you made the right play.....bettin 75 on the flop committin 60% of your stack nothing else you can do. you know if you move in he prolly folds almost any hand except a hand that beats yours....unless he REALLY has some gamble in him.

 

and if he has AJ or KJ or possibly even A10 on a semibluff he may move in on you and then you get to insta call and have him drawing almost dead

 

if it was 3/6 or 5/10  maybe you even get him to lay him down on the flop betting alot...but 1/3 you know they got a lil gamble with his flush draw and backdoor str8 draws.....nothing you can do....playing it right. pokerrrr sometimes.....
