Playing 5-5 against some rich guys and one drunk rich guy.
Have a full buyin of $500.
    Rich drunk guy straddles.
I'm utg with AK. I call.
Rich guy 2, he goes 40. Usually pocket pair.
Rich drunk guy goes 300 (has about 800), he steaming and can have anything but most likely two paint cards.  His raises mean nothing.
I know rich guy 2 will never fold whatever he has any pocket pair 7s and up to me (we have history) if i jam as well as any big suited ace to me, but he usually just calls with those big suited aces and doesn't raise pre so likely he has 7s to j's, he never has anything bigger lol.

Poker odds say I should be about 38% to an underpair and two random cards.  So I think it is correct to jam.  But not sure if I should have folded or jammed.  What say you??

If youre opponent has a K, or an ACE...which I think is very possible , something like overplaying KQ, or such..

Then you would win the pot 1 out of 3 times...getting about 3:1 on your money.

If you factor in the possibility that one of them [although u say unlikely] has AA or KK, i THINK that would point this to a bad shove.

If you are confident that what you explained is his range you should shove against him every time in that situation. You will win more then you lose.

    What was the outcome?

I thought shove was the correct play as well.  But I was wondering if my thought process was skewed because was running so bad. So I was wondering if there was any justification for folding.  I shoved.  $40 raiser had jj, 300 raiser had qk.  JJ held.  QK was on even more tilt after my shove because he called off the rest of his stack chasing a pair and was trying to reach into the muck to see what I go $500 with.

Thanks for the thoughts boys.  The only one that said there is a better spot to shove was my buddy who has 3 kids.

IMO, The decision has to be (a) Do I want to gamble?

                                              (b) How lucky am I tonight?

You know for sure your oppnent has a pair..He is 53% to your 47%

    Strictly a personal decision.

FOLD.  Why would you want all your chips in with an ace high vs 2 other players?  It is tough enough to win with AA vs 2 others, yet you want to risk $500 with an Anna Kournikova hand (looks pretty, but rarely wins)?  If it was for around $100, I would immediately call.

Versus the loose, tilted player, if it was just between me and him, I would have no problem taking my chances and risking my complete $500 versus him.  He could easily have AQ, AJ, KQ, KJ or worse.

Hindsight always 20/20 but in also depends on how you think you match up in the game. When I know I am the best player at the table there is no chance I shove. I want to outplay them and that mostly happens after the flop (On hands you are gonna make your money for the night) I just think you are looking for a big score here and I am a grinder so different for all I guess

I agree with the fold, you're almost always up against two players in a showdown with that situation.  AK is not much against two other players willing to put it all in.

I might call if I know I could get heads up, but it's still a gamble.

    I agree, fold

Even if it is slightly +ev, against these players you are describing there will be much more profitable spots when you flop a set or hit a straight.

If you gamble your stack, yeah you could rebuy but it might affect your play negatively

We call that future EV.  A lot of people never think about that.
