cashing huge pstars checks

I have yet to find myself with a big check but just wondering how it goes.

 

I take my 97000 dollar check down to the chase bank and simply make a deposit?  no red flags? no us govt involvement ?

 

lol hope to some day encounter the problem but would like to be prepared

fuck no!  there's gonna be some govt involvement. if you're like me then u cant stand to give a nickel to uncle sam.   the best thing to do is go to where ever the action is (world series and other big tourney events) and sell of chips for cash.   pretty regular for people to say "hey want to buy 20,000 on pokerstars" around the big cash games.  buddy of mine sold 90,000 pokerstars and fulltilt  in under an hour first week of series.

exactly either that or keep making small withdrawals over time.

Yeah man please tell me your not going to try and depo a $97,000 Stars check

 

 

Just make a monthly withdraw for like $3,000 and go from there.

 

 

I would not go any higher than that.

 

 

Also like ghost said if you live near a larger Poker room, or better yet you can travel to a WPT or WSOP Circuit event you will be able to sell those Stars chips in no time.

sorry guys i didnt win 97000 just the number i decided to use i did ok in the million a while ago (like 3200 for 40th )and i was wondering had things gone my way how i would have gotten such a large sum of money.   when u sell pstars money they give it to you dollar for dollar?     thanks for the help guys im new to the poker forum

they dont draft checks over 10,000 or do bank wires its going to take you a while to withdrawl

out of curiosity, how long does it take to receive a Stars check?

If you take out that much all at once you better be ready to pay the tax. Unless your a huge roller a $90,000+ check will set off bells and whistles galore.  My advice is to either take it out and pay the tax or be patient and make lots of very small withdrawls.

10 days is avg 4 a check from p stars
