that is a horrible payout structure if you just missed the final table.

I don't even know how you can beat that many players and only get a 3x buy in return, I have never seen a tourney like that.  Where was this tourney at?

Most players have the opposite complaint.I will tell you the majority of the players want less of the field to cash and more money at the final table.
